Re: Decembre 2013 Waiters
Hi waiters, I have a question (might be a good distraction from the anxiety we're all feeling today):
How many letters of recommendation should we be sending to schools? I know that for many of them, we must submit at least two, but can submit up to four. Does this mean that we should be submitting the max amount of LOR?
I have three, but am still waiting for a (lazy) but great professor that knows me the best to submit one he said he would do four months ago, despite multiple friendly reminders. Should I wait a week for him to submit it, or just send in the three that I have?
Thanks in advance for advice!

Wrong thread, but generally don't submit 4 unless you have a ton of WE and whatever. Asha from Yale says the median perfect number is something like 2.4.esperando127 wrote:Hi waiters, I have a question (might be a good distraction from the anxiety we're all feeling today):

2 Professors, 1 from an employer, especially if you are out of school. I submitted 1 from a professor that I TA'ed his class; 1 from a professor I had; and 1 from my current employer.

I'm using three. I know that they are great LORS so I would think that's enough.esperando127 wrote:Hi waiters, I have a question (might be a good distraction from the anxiety we're all feeling today):

Re: Decembre 2013 Waiters
Have you tried giving him a strict "need by" deadline? That might help him prioritize it. If it is a recommendation you think would boost your admission chances, I would say wait.esperando127 wrote:Hi waiters, I have a question (might be a good distraction from the anxiety we're all feeling today):

Along the same lines: has anybody ghostwritten their own recommendation for a professor? I've heard of people doing this for other things (study abroad) and am curious if its a thing for law school.

Re: Decembre 2013 Waiters
December was my third time taking the LSAT. I tried registering, and I was told that my "test-taking limit was reached." Another poster who already took it three times can confirm this. Are the rumors true? Anyway, here's the text to prove it--
"You may not take the LSAT more than three times in any two-year period. This policy applies even if you cancel your score or if your score is not otherwise reported. LSAC reserves the right to cancel your registration, rescind your admission ticket, or take any other steps necessary to enforce this policy.
For significant extenuating circumstances, exceptions to this policy may be made by LSAC. To request an exception, submit a signed, detailed explanation addressing the circumstances that you feel make you eligible to retake the LSAT and specify the date that you wish to test. E-mail your request as an attachment to LSACinfo@LSAC.org or send it by fax to 215.968.1277.
You will be notified by e-mail of approval or denial of your request. Be sure to submit your request well in advance of the regular registration deadline so that you can receive timely notification of our decision. Barring unforeseen circumstances, LSAC will respond within seven working days of its receipt. LSAC's decisions are final."

Re: Decembre 2013 Waiters
Definitely not trolling... I'm as anxious as anyone else, since I took it in June, Oct, and December. Are people sure I wasn't able to register before today? This is my first time trying to "register" for a fourth take...
