A bit. Going to start PT'ing tomorrow! Have to hang out with friends all day so probably just fit in a RC section tonight.

zacboro wrote:Okay, I have to rant about LR questions real quick. For the past two weeks I have been -2 through -4 range and I cannot break it!! I don't know what to do about this. It's not an issue of timing, I'm finishing each section with about 30 seconds to spare. The answers I get wrong I get wrong even after BR. So I know, "I need to go back and practice more fundamentals." But like some questions I'm just not getting. The ones I get wrong I always narrow down to two choices and I review Manhattan afterwards, and after that review it makes more sense, but these questions just constantly bug me. I seem to be having trouble identifying when it is okay to apply my basic knowledge of the world to a question (humans breathe, dogs are mammals, a jar of peanut butter can't have a mind of its own) or when it's not okay because "we should never assume anything that lies outside the stimulus or answer choices."

For example, this most recent question: (PT 37 / first LR section/ question 20)
The stim was about seals storing oxygen when they dive, it said they store it in their lungs, blood, and some researchers hypothesize they can store it in their spleen.
The question was "each of the following provide some support for the hypothesis except:"
I was between a) horses are known to store oxygenated blood in their spleens for use during exertion. or b) many species of seal can store oxygen directly in their muscle tissue.

My reasoning for why A was incorrect was because I figured it's out of scope. If I assumed horses had spleens similar to seals that would be too bold of an assumption to make. I also didn't think assuming "diving" and "exertion" could be equivocated without making too bold of an assumption. And B provided some support because okay, muscle tissue is at least part of a seal's anatomy, and honestly I thought there was some muscle tissue in a spleen (my mistake there). But still, I feel like sometimes the LSAT wants us to make these sweeping assumptions, and other times they're like "ayy lmao, your answer was wrong because it was so out of scope, stick to the stim!" #stuckandannoyed

ETA: I left my trainer up school, I'm going back up in about a week. Do you think once I start referencing that for help in LR or RC instead of the bibles my score will improve?
it could be me trying to read this in between work stuff, but so to clarify, which was TCR? lol

back-to-back RC is something that can happen on test day, you just have to keep grinding. But it sounds like your'e definitely doing it right

-12 isn't too bad! I wish there were some stats for the Feb. test...sigh

does anyone know if the % of 170s+ scorers for Feb. is similar with the % for the other disclosed test dates?

Yeah, same here. I started eating clean yesterday & am currently chugging down a kale smoothie. I already feel energetic. So far so good, but it's only the 2nd day, haha, so let's see what happens.
Do you guys think this really helps with test performance? I think I ate worse before the December test because I didn't make time to cook.

Also, can I just say that I hate that I am now posting ITT. Was hoping to never lay eyes on the February test.
