I've been getting a bunch this week too. I'm just going to take advil right before I check in and have some in my bag for the break and hope for the best.
That's what I was thinking, too. Hopefully the Friday off before will help with it.

Well, just came back from the doctor and it's confirmed that my ear is completely infected and my eardrum torn! Not what I was hoping for pretest lol. In way too much pain to do anything right now.

I think it was Mint-Berry who said that the 70s RC Qs will be easier to tackle if you have a clear grasp of the author's attitude, I used this approach and didn't find them to be much harder than the earlier RCs.

Geeeeez torn eardrum sounds bad, is it painful?

Don't feel obligated to take it just because it's the most recent test. You should save it just in case of a retake.
Yeah, maybe you're right. I would rather drill than do PTs right meow, honestly.

I am worried I'll have to retake. I so don't want to.
Aren't you scoring in the mid-170s? That's pretty stellar! What schools are you aiming for that you'd need a retake w/ your current PT scores?

PT 75:

LR 1: -6 (grrr)
RC: -3
LR 2: -3
LG: -4

I missed a rule in the second game (that was only relevant for one question apparently since I got them all right aside from the last one) and spent like 3 minutes trying to figure out the last question before guessing. I missed 3 on the last game because I ran out of time but if I had those extra couple minutes I would have gotten them all right. I finished on that LG so I just opened the test back up to where I was and solved the four questions in ~80 seconds once I finally understood what all the rules meant. I was right at that "Aha!" moment as time ran out.

Either way, time for the real thing! Going to just review the LR's from PT 71-75 and go to bed early the next two days! PT 76 HERE I COME!!!! :)

GL everyone! Probably not going to be back on here until Sunday because it'll just stress me out.. and the day of is definitely not happening!

No clue how I managed it. My ear is infected both in front of and behind eardrum. Hurts REALLY badly (esp after the training intern examined it-was not skilled in avoiding the infected parts) but hopefully will feel better by test day! If not, I've been prescribed super strong ibuprofen so I'll manage either way.

Eta: they didn't say anything about it bursting, just that it is torn. So I don't think so?

I just took my last preptest that I have (71), and it was decently hard. Obviously, the curve represented that toughness, however, I'm feeling good. I haven't graded it yet, however, I am estimating my game-day performance to result in a 162 to 170.

gamerish wrote:Oh I forgot to mention, I tried a new RC method and I'll be using it on the test. Rather than do the passages in any chronological order, I did the passages with the most questions first. 71 had, I think, two 8 questions passages, a 6 question passage and a 5 question passage. I wound up finishing so it was probably a wash anyway but I think it's a smart move to leave the passage with the fewest questions for last, for me at least.

It also makes the questions first approach much more feasible - I certainly can't remember 8 RC questions while trying to dissect a passage - since there's usually a 5 section passage per test and probably 2 or 3 of those are going to be passage location specific questions as opposed to general inference and conclusion questions so you just have to keep those few questions in mind and can answer them as you read.
Mirrors was so long and weird, the rest weren't too bad. I did the AA Painter, then Legal Power, then Mirrors, then the Multiplayer Game Tax, and had 5 minutes left to spare. I usually save the comparative for last if it's 5-6 questions.

I suppose I am considered a speed reader. I read a lot of books, at least one a week, at about 900wpm.

Cruising through PT68 tonight thinking I was going to get my highest score ever - had extra time on each section - then get to Section 4, Logic Game 3 and completely loose it. Skip to LG 4...which is harder than the easy 1 and 2 LGs but still not complex...finish LG 4 and get back to LG 3 with ample time and...just loose it. Could not even figure out how to set up LG 3 (hung up on wtf a "service net" was and how to set up my diagram). So frustrating to have this one game tank my score.

I checked out 7Sage's video on this game and, honestly, the way they diagram it is just not something I would ever do. Way too time consuming. Anyone come across another site with a quicker way to diagram this game? What was the curve for PT68?

No, the highest I've gotten is a 172, lowest recently has been a 167. I would consider retaking anything under 169.

I want to go to Berkeley, USC, or UCLA, but my GPA is lower (3.5) due to taking 2 years of classes in HS and working full time throughout. I really don't think I'll have a shot with anything below a 169 or even with that score. :/

Yeah but with a 3.5? I'm hoping Berkeley truly is holistic and I might have a shot there, but who knows. Applying to UC Davis and UC Irvine too.

Since I didn't PT today, I think I'm going to try to leave work early and take 75 or take 75 with me and do it in sections, hoping I won't be interrupted.

Gonna try to get up at 6 tomorrow :?
