I know I rage quit last night, but I came back to tell you I'll be your support system if you need it. Or if you want to have Skype dates where we go over PTs for accountability

First post here. Checking in.. just starting to study for the June test. Hoping I'm not too late in the game, but if I am and I bomb it I'm down for October's group too!!

Are any of you doing either blueprint or 7sage? I am so torn on which course to take. I bought the SuperPrep last week, and LG Bible is in the mail. I just want to maximize my time.

Thoughts?

Good! Sound plan.

Roughly what amount of PTing are you planning on between now and then? I was thinking of a 3 / week pace.

Haven't done any courses, so can't recommend anything on that front. The original post has recommendations as far as books go (Manhattan's LR is good to add, for instance).

I just started working on The Trainer -- so far, it seems promising, but I'm only about 50 pgs in.

If you have the discipline, you don't really need to shuck out the bucks for a course. All of them require you to self-study anyways. But I've read Velocity and 7Sage are the way to go for cost-effectiveness.

Intro: LSAT Trainer
LG: Powerscore Logic Games Bible, 7Sage free explanations, Cambridge Logic Games bundle
LR: Manhattan LR, Cambridge LR bundle, Manhattan forums for free explanations
RC: Manhattan RC, Cambridge RC bundle, Manhattan forums for free explanations

General tools: 7sage proctor, 7sage PT metrics

You've got enough time. How much are you planning to study per week?

Welcome. People in here took both BP and 7Sage and liked 7Sage.
Check out some of the free videos and maybe consider Velocity.

7Sage and Velocity are the front runners in my mind and it comes down to different teaching styles/personalities in my mind.

Yes. I've been generally underwhelmed by courses and I think others have been too.

You've got almost three months - I'm not planning on touching a book until at least next month.

Have you taken a diagnostic PT yet?

I put in four weeks for September - Rigo'd. Didn't touch anything until five weeks out from February - +3.

I feel pretty good about a six week prep for June.

Not yet. I thought I read somewhere not to even try a PT in the beginning as its a waste, no?

I guess I'll just try to start studying on my own at first. I am pretty disciplined when I'm driven. I work full-time, and have two kids (9 and 5) but this is something I want to do so I can probably study at night.

So, what have you all done as a plan of attack? Is there a study guide/book schedule that I can review somewhere to make sure I have the right materials? I saw the list in the OP I just wasn't sure if everyone was using those same books.

Thanks!

I picked up SuperPrep, Should I grab the Trainer as well, for when I'm done?

Check my recommendations in the first post of the thread.
The Trainer + Powerscore LG Bible would be the two books to start with, IMO.

Knock one out to figure out starting strengths and weaknesses. If you're worried about timeframe, you definitely want to start with your problem area(s).

I work full-time, am working on an MS, and have a two year old. Its doable. Also, I've found that studying at night after a full day really prepares you well for any test fatigue.

I used superprep A as my diagnostic, a lot of people use the June 2007 one bc it's free. But definitely good idea to do a diagnostic to see realistically how much work you've got ahead of you. (IE much different if you score 125 on a diag then if you are at high 150s-low 160s).

I left my deadbeat, alcoholic husband in September and he moved across the country 3 weeks ago. So, I have my kids all by myself to manage. BUT, this is something I have wanted to do for years. I have a decent GPA, a 3.5 from FSU, so I'm thinking as long as I can manage a strong LSAT score I should be ok. I have always been a HORRIBLE standardized test taker though (Hardly made it into FSU bc of horrid SAT scores). I do much better on the day-to-day studying.

So, we shall see how this goes!

Regarding schedules, there are a good number out there. I started with lawschooli.com's 16 week schedule and then changed it dramatically to incorporate Manhattan's schedule also.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
