remember tho, aba approval doesn't necessarily mean they're all going to adopt it.

Also the aba approval is not until 2018-2019. So presumably H does it wants / there's some arrangement there.

Good news! I only spent 150 dollars in prep materials opposed to 500 like my first go around.

Damnnnn.... hmm should be interesting. What if I applied with a 99% LSAT GMAT and GRE lmao... You think that would show if I am "smart enough" for H?Alexandros wrote:https://today.law.harvard.edu/gre/jagerbom79 wrote:Yeah thats what I was confused about. 2017-2018 cycle or 2018-2019Alexandros wrote:I thought it was next fall but someone correct me if I'm wrong. Also somewhat confused because Spivey said the ABA approval stuff wouldn't happen until 2018-2019.jagerbom79 wrote:Yeah I agree with all this. I don't understand why they would flood apps with GREs...if anything just lower the LSAT median like has been occuring and that should adjust for what they are trying to achieve.Alexandros wrote:Any law school admissions officer can probably be reasonably expected to know the state of the legal field pretty well.dj9i27 wrote:please get desperate LS, please.Alexandros wrote: This 100%.
Applicants are on the decline, high scores are on the decline, and, at least judging by last cycle's data, GPAs are on the decline - so that might have something to do with it. And individual LS's may or may not care that law is super-oversaturated. Although, imo, being cognizant of this and not flooding the field with people who aren't genuine about law school is in their long-term interest.
I think we need to have a quantity over quality thought but ls in some way is a business. I am a little curious to see how widespread of knowledge this is. anecdotal as it may be, not many around here have a clue
I just hope some of the other schools will share our reservations and not all just jump on board the "accepting GREs" boat. I also hope my musing earlier that it might take some time to catch on among applicants once it's initiated will have some truth, although tbh probably wishful thinking.
Alex, I hope it doesn't...even for HLS sake. Is H doing it next fall for apps or the year after? I might just go bonanza and right after the LSAT crush the GRE in a month or so.

Not even close to what I said. The blanket ABA approval for all schools likely (and I can't stress learning to use that word enough) until 2018-2019 cycle, per the ABA. Harvard, Arizona already accept GRE because of their pilot studies (which two other schools have also done).jagerbom79 wrote:https://today.law.harvard.edu/gre/Alexandros wrote:Yeah thats what I was confused about. 2017-2018 cycle or 2018-2019jagerbom79 wrote:I thought it was next fall but someone correct me if I'm wrong. So if you only want to apply to Harvard and Arizona, GRE is fine. But if you want to apply to more schools, you'll need an LSAT as we stand right now.
If I sound test I apologize. I just get misquoted on a daily basis these days.

Ehhh that's only a fraction of what you will be spending on feeding your LSAT-induced/application cycle-induced alcohol addiction and antidepressants, no biggiedj9i27 wrote:Good news! I only spent 150 dollars in prep materials opposed to 500 like my first go around.

Long day full of events/panels tomorrow as well. Everyone here LOVES Michigan and will tell you that, but it seems very genuine and not even in a "hard sell" kind of way like "come here come here!" It's more of a "I really love it here; everyone is great. You should come here too because I want you to have this experience as well."

That's awesome!! Mich kind of comes across that way in promo material - It's great to know that that extends to the student body / student experience as well.brinicolec wrote:Oh yeah, it's definitely been fun so far!Alexandros wrote:Hope you're having fun!!brinicolec wrote:Day 1 of ASW at Michigan is over and I think I'm currently drinking whatever cult kool-aid Michigan students have been drinking

I think it's usually before the deadline to drop/switch registrations, so maybe check on what date that is for June.Mikey wrote:I have no idea, but I think I saw someone say may or somethingjagerbom79 wrote:Mikey or anyone know when Sept registration opens up?
