I know the last thing anyone wants is to review a PT during the weekend, but I plan on taking one this Saturday morning. It'll probably be one from the 40s (since I saved all of them just so I could spend the last month PT'ing and the other months focusing on specific trouble sections), but I thought I'd toss it out there for people that want to join in.

How should I go over RC sections? For example, I have just completed 2 timed RC sections, after I finish, should I just check the answers and see how I did, should I read the passages again and go over difficult q's I had the first time... Advice?

I just started RC (taking in June), but I scanned all the RC passages from (29-38), going to run through all of them untimed once, then go through all of them again timed. The worst ones I will work through again untimed, review the answers, and then read the correlating RCB section. Then, sleep it off, wake up and do the sections timed again.

I took the December LSAT, ended up failing on the last RC passage... what a way to end my test. I have LG under control, working on RC right now and waiting on my velocity materials to fine tune some LR stuff. If I can get my RC to be consistent under -8 than I really do think I'll be fine (shooting for a 165+). I was kinda worried that I havn't done much since the December test, but honestly, I think the break was good for me, and it's not like I just forgot all of my studying I have done, this is just kind of a continuation, not really a start over.

Ugh, as someone who took the december lsat, trying to get myself remotivated for this is hard considering the scores aren't out yet! I know I bombed the last RC passage so I am anticipating that really hurting my score. Please guys, get me motivated!

In light of my recent decision not to pursue law school under the Navy's sabbatical program, but rather to wait until my entire Navy service obligation is up, meaning I will have to complete a 2.5 year shore duty after my current tour ends in August 2013, and in light of the fact that I have a deployment looming large next spring and will then have some time to kill, I have decided to postpone taking the LSAT as well. I know from my rigorous prepping that I can get my scores comfortably into the 170s, and that's good enough for me for now. The demands of my job (getting ready for deployment), and the demands of my family (time with Dad before leaving for deployment) have made my LSAT prep a huge drain.

Today I pulled the trigger and officially rescheduled for December 2012. LSAC charges 68 dollars for this, so it's not a decision I took lightly, but I think it's best for myself and my family. My deployment ends in mid-fall, so I'll have a few months after to get reacclimated to land and also to continue my LSAT prep. I'll also get to actually SEE my damn test! It's been great prepping with you guys, and I wish you all the best in Feb! For me, I will have to crush it in December.

I'll still be lurking on these boards until it's all over.

This was my experience as well. I'd prepped extensively for the LSAT during my undergrad and got my scores into the high 160s (average). That first 163 I got in early NOV was my lowest score by a full four points. Once I got back into the swing of things I never tested lower than 167.
I'll be able to do a much more regimented study plan, and I'll have the December 2011, June 2012 and October 2012 all new PTs to work on as well!

I just took my first practice test of the New Year (PrepTest 36, from December 2001) and I figured I'd type up a little post-mortem and share with you guys my manifold sins.

LR1: -1 (Missed 23)
RC: -1 (Missed 6)
LR2: -2 (Missed 21, 26)
LG: -6 (Missed 4, 14, 15, 17, 18, 22)
Ex. LG: -3 (PT 33's section 4; Missed 14, 21, 22)

Raw 91, Scaled 171.

Two things are keeping me from breaking 175 and from registering for the February LSAT.

First, the questions I'm missing on LR are blindsiding me. I starred five questions on LR1 and seven on LR2 and missed one of them. I was confident about the other two questions I missed. This is terrifying, and on other practice tests, it has cost me up to four questions that I thought were safe. I usually finish LR with about five minutes to spare, but the time I spend checking answers is dedicated to the questions I star, which is apparently no longer where my problems lie.

Second, and maybe more importantly, I'm still slow on LG. The fruit stand game, which at first seemed like a pretty simple grouping exercise, took me ~12 minutes to finish. And even then I got a question wrong. When I finally got to the linear/grouping bus seating game (I did game 4 first), I had five minutes left. About three of those went to diagramming, so I only got two minutes to actually look at the questions, which left me little better off than guessing would have. If I'd had two of tough games, I would have been sunk completely. Gah!

Any suggestions for improving my speed?

Seats on a bus is known as one of the top ten hardest games of all time. I have a friend who is a LG wizard who says that game was always his worst, no matter how many times he did it. I wouldn't feel too bad about it!

Doesn't that PT include more than one of the hardest games ever? The fruit stand wasn't easy either...

I'm back. Can't wait to knock this out with yall in Feb. Messed up RC on the December test. F*** Scoring nowhere near my PT average.

Also - I have almost all my applications submitted, waiting on my December score - ANYONE know what I should do from here in regard to contacting the schools I applied to. Most of their app deadlines are Apr 1st - Not T14 schools.

I'm gonna study for this, hopefully will be ready in time, if not, than its June for me. Just got back my 159 from December... I was pt'ing around 164 so I know I can improve. Honestly, my nerves were the biggest thing, I was so freaked out, slept about 4 hours the night before, felt groggy most of the day. I just got my velocity stuff in the mail, gonna go hard.

I mean, I pretty much have 3 months of studying under my belt, I know what I'm capable of, but just need to fine tune stuff, not get nervous, and be confident in myself.
