Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
Hey guys, I've been lurking this thread all summer as I've been studying and wanted say thanks for all the info. And good luck on Saturday!
I began prepping in late June with a 159 diagnostic. I haven't hit my target score of 173 once this summer (with over 15 PTs). My average lately has been 169, though a few 171s on the board, too.
I'm taking PT 74 tomorrow then will review and do just minor drilling until Saturday.
So the December test is probably in my future!

I actually assumed this as well. Never realized it, though. Emma stone is my supposedly my doppelgänger, hence the icon.theugg wrote:That means there' are like 3 girls in this thread total. I really hope there are more than 3 of us here.
ETA: I also totally base personalities off avatars. Nlee is always really positive and upbeat, since his icon is smiling. RZ is a mysterious hipster based off of his. Etc etc.

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
Hey guys - I've decided to briefly come out of lurkerdom to get your thoughts on RC...
Newer RC sections - so I guess it's pretty much a consensus that they're more difficult, glad to know I'm not alone in that... I've started reading the questions before the passage and marking references to specific words/paragraphs and then answering right after I read that part (when a question starts "in line 33..." I write that question number next to the line and then answer in the middle of the passage). For comparative passages, I mark each question "A," "B," or "AB" and then answer after the relevant passage. In the last three PTs that I've done (71-73) I've gone from -5-6 to 0/-1 -- it helps to give a little context before I start reading the passage, and word/paragraph-specific questions get answered while they're fresh in my mind... It took a little practice to make sure it doesn't eat up too much time, but it's been worth it.
Does anyone else do this? Or have any other strategies for RC? I'm pretty consistently getting all the LG right, and LR I usually miss about 2 per section, mostly from misreading or over-analyzing. Really hoping for a 173+ on test day, particularly after my June embarrassment...

Don't assume that...I've had a variety of gender neutral or male photos on here.theugg wrote:That means there' are like 3 girls in this thread total. Had a dream I was doing logic games. Just continuously doing them and I keep pt missing inferences and I couldn't figure out any questions.
