Took PT36 today (the one I took in 2010 through Kaplan).
178-
S1 LR1: -1
S2 (PT31 LR2 S3): -0 [Experimental 1]
S3 RC: -1
S4 LR2: -1
S5 (PT31 RC S4): -0 [Experimental 2]
S6 LG: -1
Together with yesterday's PT, that also concludes PT31 -
180-
LG: -2
LR1: -1
LR2: -0
RC: -0
Definitely happy with both results. Definitely need to keep drilling to maintain my fundamentals and need to keep working on stamina - by section 5 and especially section 6 I am definitely losing concentration and motivation.

Anyone have any RC advice? I've been trying really hard to get my numbers up, but I keep coming in around -5 on every test. Can't pinpoint any one shortcoming. Stressing out a little with test day fast approaching

yea i screwed that game up but because of my stupid mistakes. the maize passage screwed me harder though.gnomgnomuch wrote:So, anyone leaning toward Dec, instead of Sept?
I just don't think I can make around a 5 point jump in a month.
Also, anecdotal, but that North/South 6-8-10, 8-10-12 game in PT 48, was that just me, or was the game absolutely incomprehensible?

Took PT66 yesterday:
LR exp: -3
RC: -5 (35:00)
LR1: -1 (29:45)
LG: -1 (35:00)
LR2: -3 (32:00)
Scaled: 170
I'm not done blind reviewing PT67 yet, so I don't have a score, but I will say this: I felt slower today. Definitely not as sharp. Will update with conclusions as soon as the results are in.

BJS -- according to an old LSAT q, "magnanimous behavior" is beneficial for the immune system. So you can add that to the echinacea, fluids, and sleep Rx

PT56 - 169
LG: -0
LR1: -2
LR2: -3
RC: -7
At long last I'm finally more accurate and consistent with LR. Very stoked. The comparative passage crushed me though; I went -4 on that one alone. I think it was a combination of the time running out, and still getting used to the comparative passages in general. Definitely going to be reviewing and redoing that passage asap. The games were pretty straight forward but over the last few PTs I keep miss-reading a rule and end up wasting time fixing it. Still need some improvement but this was my best score yet and so now I'm going to review & relax. cheers all

Re: The Official September 2014 Study Group
On the verge of flipping out.
Just did LR and RC one after the other. 21/26 on LR and 22/27 on RC. Of the 5 wrong on LR, 3 I had narrowed down to the correct answer, and chose incorrectly, and of the 5 wrong I had on RC ALL DAMN 5 OF THEM were narrowed down, and I chose wrong.
Like COME ON that's 8 points I could have picked up. EIGHT. This is seriously depressing.
Where the hell am I going wrong!?

LR1: -3
LR Experimental.: -3
RC: -6 WTFFDUIHRHRB. This is my best section. I am so angry at myself. I ran out of time, but it doesn't matter. I am soooo mad. I want to light a bonfire, throw this stupid facking test into it, then drink whiskey until it's dark while having someone Marlboro cowboy play the harmonica blues on a log next to me. Crackle, crackle, cicada, sadness.
LR2: -3
LG: -2
I've been consistently at -2 for each section, so, this is definitely a step backward. I'm going to have to double my studying.

Please give this to me. I am a good person with a kind heart, and I deserve this score. As a lawyer, I will probably help do something important in some national capacity at some point in time. The world needs harmony. I deserve this score in advance, not the least because it ensures that I can do that important thing for the good of our great nation.BJS wrote:Took PT36 today (the one I took in 2010 through Kaplan).

I wrote that one yesterday and went -4 on RC which had also typically been a strong section for me. That talk-story passage was just so damn boring that I couldn't absorb any of it.sfoglia wrote:I do need grocery shopping, but I actually was going to go browse shoes. Also, I feel I have legitimate beef with Q2 in the law passage. That really seems pretty unfair to ask, as I feel it goes far beyond an inference and asks you to broadly speculate. You could reasonably pick any one of those 5 answer choices and defend it by writing a hypothetical paragraph. I don't feel the correct answer choice was really supported anywhere in the passage. Or maybe I missed something?

I loved the "talk-story'! I studied Kingston, so I spent an inordinately long time reading the passage out of sheer interest. Familiarity a detriment.P.J.Fry wrote:I wrote that one yesterday and went -4 on RC which had also typically been a strong section for me. I'm going to let that stupid section sit for a little while, and then re-take it from start to finish, untimed.

Re: The Official September 2014 Study Group
There are probably some questions that you narrowed down to two and picked the right answer, but you aren't focusing on the questions you got right so your perception is skewed. Or you might be narrowing it down to the answer choice that *sounds* good and TCR. If so, you might not be reading carefully enough. Oftentimes, the answer that sounds the best is one that plays on a superficial reading or misread of the passage or stimulus.gnomgnomuch wrote:On the verge of flipping out.
