See, i feel like for a lot of questions you're opening yourself up by not anticipating.

I anticipate for: flaw, role, conclusion, SA, method, disagree/agree questions.

I've noticed that flaws are harder to anticipate in recent LR, but figured it was just me.

It's like $8 to get it done at CVS or Walgreens or whatever drug store is near you. I wouldn't risk it! I got regular passport-style photos.

Hmm. whats the turn around on it? It takes me forever with the lighting in my house to get a decent pic without a shadow.

No turnaround. You take the picture and they develop it right there - maybe 10 minutes tops from asking them to completing your purchase and walking out with your photos (at CVS).

Yes, but....it's $8 and your photo is taken by people who are used to taking passport photos. I would highly doubt a bad picture would actually result in someone being turned away...but after all this studying, I don't even want to entertain the idea of a risk!

Eta: you infer that they have economic power, because, duh, that's what advertising does. BUT he does not say that advertisers except economic power over people. that's not one of his claims.

I thought you could pretty well imply economic power based on his claims about the false needs contributing to the profit of corporations. But maybe you're right. He's talking more about emotional satisfaction.

I edited my post above to explain it more. Basically, E says that one of his claims is X and that's the only one that could be right. But he doesn't say that. We're assuming it's one of his claims and assuming it's true.

But here I think the point is to anticipate because it forces and allows you to really evaluate what's going on in the argument. When you go through, you look for that answer choice, but also remain open to other answers but also have knowledge of types of flaws to quickly eliminate wrong answers and you have to be specific with what you're anticipating. I just did 72 and section 4 LR I was back down to my average. I think the newer ones are definitely different, and the main thing is that the answers are worded differently than what you expect. The flaws aren't necessarily harder, they're just worded in ways that are much different from the previous 20-30 PTs.

I also think they're throwing in some new "patterns" of types of questions/arguments and answer choices that differ from older PTs which definitely throw off anticipation.
