ECHINACEA! Zicam also works (it's essentially massive doses of zinc), but I like Echinacea because I find that it always helps even when I take it later during a cold, whereas Zicam is generally only effective if taken at the first sign.

I assume you'll use a decongestant and maybe a nasal spray if your congestion worsens, but if you tend to suffer from lingering coughs after colds, you should definitely invest in an expectorant, as well.

Yeah, I'll drink Absolutely Zero in a pinch, but I prefer the taste of Lo-Carb Monster even at 20 calories a can.

Carbs are always my dietwreckas. And cheese. I think 99% of what I can eat is some cultural variant of a cheese sandwich.

While we're on the topic, what do you all do to prep for your PTs?

I usually just make an extra cup of tea and eat a snack and have a cigarette. I do a few sections of something every morning, and I'll finish off whatever is left right before the test.

...

I'm getting ready to take one and panicking a little because I didn't study for even a second yesterday.

I do exactly what you do (just coffee/the aforementioned Monster instead of tea), an LG or two, and I put my phone in airplane mode. I also do some pushups or dips and some stretching to diffuse energy and relax a bit. (I guess I'll have to do that part at home before the test.) You're gonna do great! A day away from everything is sometimes a good thing :)

You TLS badasses are all going to be my spirit animal today. My LR progress has stalled/reversed, so I have a shitload of drilling/punching myself in the face to do. Good luck to all!

I miss Starbucks! I miss coffee! I switched exclusively to tea because it gives me the jitters, and I'm already a nervous Nelly as is.

Stretching sounds nice. I was thinking about incorporating a few minutes of yoga prior. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow.

Interesting that none of us bothers to practice any RC...

Okay, just went -0 on an old LG section, now on to 15 LR, and then test. Then shopping if I do well. Because, treats.

It's rare that I even do better after I BR. It's not uncommon for me to change right answers to wrong. I just can't get into the right frame of mind if I'm BR'ing

Yeah, whys that? I find I got pretty into seeing my BR scores, I think it helps me get better trying hard in review to see what I truly do not understand, but its frustrating at the same time to see how much lost points there is simply because of idiotic mistakes, or the time pressure. Whats your normal timed score? I've only taken 2 pts so far and I have a 164, and 161.

This. And eat a little something.

Just finished PT65 following this strategy. Raw score of 97, scaled 179.

LR1 -1
LG -2 (1 stupid mistake on the first game; had to guess on the last question)
RC -1
LR2 -0

Found the RC pretty easy actually, except for those weird "the proposal is most similar to..." questions.

Idk flash I'm just no good at it. I have a certain mindset that I can't really seem to imitate outside of an actual timed PT (or just a timed section). I've always been bad at practicing at the level I play at.

I don't test n tell.

What is your PT scores like? If its high, that might explain it. Theres probably less motivation to do BR if you're already getting 170's, opposed to someone like me in the 160's aiming for 170's.

So, anyone leaning toward Dec, instead of Sept?

I just don't think I can make around a 5 point jump in a month.

Also, anecdotal, but that North/South 6-8-10, 8-10-12 game in PT 48, was that just me, or was the game absolutely incomprehensible?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
