I am avoiding facebook for a while so I don't have to look at all my liberal friends rubbing it in my face and all my republican friends act like they just died and the ensuing fights between them.

haha no, I have some particularly aggressive liberal and republican friends and on Facebook it seems like everything is life and death and the end or salvation of the nation and I will just leave it at that

My stance is that all marriages should legally be redefined as civil unions and the legality of rigorous ceremonies or traditions to be outside the scope of any governing entity.

Yea I deleted my facebook app after all the anti southern crap from distant relatives I was seeing. Don't even want to know what my feed looks like today. But I just can't pull my self away from this TLS thread where I am outnumbered like 100:1 by liberals. O well, we all went through LSAT hell together and that is a bond even raging partisanship cant break.

The majority of individuals on my FB who are involved in these discussions are 100% close-minded when it comes to discussion. The debate goes something like this:

R: I'm right, you're wrong.
D: You're just a racist and a bigot. You'll never understand. you'll always be on the wrong side of history.

and when some level-headed individual comes in, they get lumped in with either side and all but completely ignored.

Look at my tar and guess what I think about my southern heritage and ancestors lol.

I think that the flag should be removed from state institutions. If you as an individual citizen want to wear or have a flag then that's your prerogative, regardless you can't deny that people have used this flag to promote bigotry and racism.
