Staying the course. Fairly happy with my decision to enroll in Testmasters...I think there are some problems with the course, but I don't know if I could have consistently forced myself to put in so much time without feeling the obligation to finish it.

Going to read some Manhattan LSAT and off to do more LR and RC!

I may go out Friday night for a singular drink in Manhattan...

Do you mean the latter? Or are we encouraging alcoholism? haha.

I have class in the morning on Saturday, and I don't live in the city currently. I'm kind of over that train noise, so I'd probably just drive in, park, meet people for an hour or two, and head back.
Didn't even know you were here in nyc, ayyy.

Haha - I'm in my own timezone. Yeah - I have been keeping kind of weird/random hours. Granted, I don't really post until I've been doing LSAT stuff for a bit, so, usually, my earliest posts are a few hours after I've been up... I can see the confusion!

Aside from trying not to freak out, because holy shit 2 months,I'm not entirely sure to be honest. Definitely more preptests and more repetition, out of necessity. My RC and LG drilling has been consistently just 4-5 games/passages at a time, timed. Once I finish MLR, LR drilling will look fairly similar, with a bit more variation.

I hoping to be consistently -1 on the drills, and I should almost be there (knock on wood) Once I'm at that point, what's left, aside from trying to move that value to 0 as much as possible, is ensuring I have the endurance to get through full PTs with the necessary speed and accuracy, and being able to respond as well to new games, passages, questions as well as I am with ones I've seen before.

My supervisor is gone for the next few weeks and my office is almost empty right now. I'm hoping, provided I'm able to efficiently get work done, that will mean more flexible hours and being able to work from home sometimes, which should help with prep and having the time for PTs.

With work + prep - use your time as wisely and efficiently as you can, try to get things done early, and make sure to give yourself off-time occasionally or burn-out and resentment will ensue.

I'm definitely interested in Cornell.

Quick question: Since I have a desire to stay in NY as a whole (for school and work), should this be something that I partially include in my "Why NYU" essay? Just saying that I've always lived here and my desire to stay is one of the main reasons I prefer NYU? Also, do you think it would be worth it or appropriate to write something similar for Columbia and Cornell? Of course with some respective differences among each school.

Public libraries suck now. I rememember the days when library staff kicked anyone out for making even the slightest bit of noise. Went to the library to study today and this is what has happened so far: guy watching a movie with no headphones, mother sitting here with a baby who's been crying the entire time, teenagers playing video games in groups of four and yelling, and an old couple playing backgammon so I keep hearing the dice hit the board.Lucky I have my noise cancellation headphones.

Anyway, I've been utilizing the skipping strategy and am really happy with the results so far. Did 4 LR sections and went -4,-1,-1,-0. Really pissed I didn't do this sooner. Helps a ton with timing and accuracy.

honestly I don't know anyone who has written a Why X essay for those schools, but I suppose you can if you can think it'll help. but staying in NYC can (and I think should) be included in a why NYU imo, people always write that sort of stuff in their Why essays (proximity to family, familiarity with city, etc). just make sure to write why you think you're a good fit for NYU and why you prefer it over other schools and stuff like that.

This exact question was asked during one of the 7sage Webinars and David Busis said you definitely should mention it since it shows you're serious about attending the school.

I wasted PT's 50-70 for June but I am using them over again for drilling. Really focusing on being able to direct the argument and predicting the answer for multiple question types. This is helpful, since even if I remember the question/answer I can still use the question stem for studying.

I'm thinking by next week I'll do 5 section PT's twice weekly up until the test date.

I teach full time so managing prep time is crucial! Luckily my classes are all in the afternoon/evening. I set aside 8am-12pm M-F for studying and will ramp up to M-Sat leading up. Depending on how I feel I might dial it back down just before to curb burnout.
