Great job, BJS. That's a serious accomplishment and one that very few test takers (like 1 out of 100) ever accomplish.

It's really frustrating because I know it's just an outlier. Nothing matters until I actually score above a 163 on the actual test, because for all my PTs a 163 is the only thing in my record!!! I didn't do any sections this week (just daily LR, RC, and LG drilling), so I don't know if that helped me.BillPackets wrote:Haha that's it! I would take a crazy good outlier rather than crazy bad. You sound like you're doing great. Undoubtedly going to score well above a 163 on game dayBJS wrote:It's really frustrating because I know it's just an outlier. Re: The Official September 2014 Study Group
Hey will anyone mind helping me get some insight into inconsistency? I've had a few bad LR sections in the past few days which are right after some of my best LR sections.
Basically, I did a PT today and section yesterday, and I got 17 right on one section, and 23/ 25 right on the next section, then the PT 18 / 25, then 22/ 26. I usually get consistently get about 21 or 22 correct, but my lowest is usually 20.
I've done the worst I have in MONTHS on these sections in the past few days followed by some of my better ones.
Any thoughts guys?

I luv when I draw a game board given a scenario in a Q and the board clearly breaks a rule and I just don't notice it.

Idk ppl usually say "make sure you blind review," or ask if there is any consistency in the Qs you miss. Personally I think it has more to do with the wording of the ACs across sections. Have you reviewed them? What's similar and different between the Qs you're missing between sections?flash21 wrote:Hey will anyone mind helping me get some insight into inconsistency? One LR Is sometimes harder than the other. So if you usually get 21/22, that's -8/-7 roughly per test and 18/25 and 23/25 is -9, so it's not real far below avg so don't let it freak u out 2muchflash21 wrote:Hey will anyone mind helping me get some insight into inconsistency? Thank you smcc!! No one in my real life understands my obsession with the LSAT.smccgrey wrote:You know what - outlier or not, you proved to yourself that it's possible. It's hard to go back from that to scores closer to your average, but you'll probably be able to 180 again before the 27th, and that is an awesome place to be in.BJS wrote:It's really frustrating because I know it's just an outlier. It's all about the tangible benefits of studying. Once you get that 172+ you can hold up your scholly offers to everyone and say "I got 200K for all that time I spent studying"

I got a full scholarship from the TTT state flagship this past cycle and people were calling me greedy and foolish for retaking and applying elsewhere. Re: The Official September 2014 Study Group
Ive been absent from this board the last week or so cause I was buried under logic games. It seems to have paid off. I hit and exceeded my mark on the December 2008 test today:
PT 56 December 2008:
LR: -5 (-3,-2)
LG: -2 (all time best, still didn't finish the section)
RC: -1 (again, an all time best)
Exp LR: -1 (December 06)
Raw Score: 92
Scaled Score: 173!
Ecstatic at this score. Just 2 weeks ago I got a 164 on a preptest and was on the verge of pushing off until December, then last week i jumped 5 points to a 169, and then 4 points again this week. those of you getting discouraged by current scores- don't. It is possible for something to just click and your score to jump fast if you work at it. Take some days away from your PTs and drill your weaknesses.
Strange to see LR as my lowest individual sections. I have been largely neglecting LR in favor of LG and RC for a few weeks though, so it certainly makes sense to see my score stagnate in this area. Looking to drill it this week. 4 weeks out and I am feeling way better about this.

I can see that. I find that ppl aren't really moved by the LST employment stats. I'll rattle off employment stats from state schools and then compare them to nearby t14s and just like no one believes meBJS wrote:I got a full scholarship from the TTT state flagship this past cycle and people were calling me greedy and foolish for retaking and applying elsewhere. how many times should one drill cambridge packets for tests 1-20? do you do a question type more than once during one drilling pass through the package?

Congrats man, this is nice to read - enjoyed the message about PT scores. I need to drill RC, PT today didnt go so well (161), if I didn't bomb one of the LR sections I could have got 165-66 ! Hurts. - may spend some time away for the next few weeks drilling RC very heavily. I write in December, but RC still seems so hopeless for me. Back to the grind though! Hope you keep improving.schmelling wrote:Ive been absent from this board the last week or so cause I was buried under logic games. It seems to have paid off. What is that score? Like a 185?BJS wrote:PT65 results are in!

S2 LR1: -1
S3 LG: -0
S4 RC: -1
S5 (PT31 LR1 S2): -1 [Experimental 2]
S6 LR2: -0
I felt horrible about the RC and LR1, finishing just prior to the time. This was my first six-section PT, so I did not give a shit by S6 LR2 I was just so exhausted. I am definitely doing six section PTs from now on to increase my intellectual stamina. I need to get into a rhythm of doing more warm-ups before the PT. I need to start earlier (8:30 instead of 10:30). I need more LR and RC drills. We're just four weeks away from being done!

Even though I 180ed it didn't feel good. Overall I was very unsure on TWO questions, which really didn't sit well with me. On game day I went to be 100% confident on each question I do, even in the experimental. I'm going to practice the writing section for the remainder of the day.
