Yes, for RC. I was at -5 to -8 and now I am at -2 consistently. I think it was someone on the September board that suggested it. It takes 30-45 sec for me to skim the questions and mark the passage: if there is a structure question about a particular paragraph--I mark that paragraph--or if it is about the passage I'll note that, a line # question--I will mark that, a question about the last paragraph (I immediately do to that one when I finish reading the passage)--I don't worry about main point, or primary purpose type questions until after I finish reading. And for inference questions, if there is something that I can note to pay attention to when reading, I will do that too. If it is an A & B passage, if there is a question only about one of the passages, I will mark that and go to that question right after reading the passage it is about. The time upfront saves me time in the end and I am more accurate. Also, the questions are then way less scary!! At least for me!Mint-Berry_Crunch wrote:For RC?it's allgood wrote:Yes, it helped me too! Easy LG, easy LR, easy RC with a -14 curve.Mint-Berry_Crunch wrote:Anyone got any baseless predictions for what kinda test we're having? I'm kinda feeling a hard games section, medium LR and hard rc

I really want a hard RC, a medium-hard LG, medium LR and easy-medium LR. Ideally RC LG LR LG (exp) LR 2, obviously experimental 5th would be best, but I'm sure this happens infrequentlyMint-Berry_Crunch wrote:Anyone got any baseless predictions for what kinda test we're having? My ideal would be hard LR, medium-hard RC, easy LG (no weird games!), and medium LR with an LR experimental.Platopus wrote:I really want a hard RC, a medium-hard LG, medium LR and easy-medium LR. LG LR LR (exp) RC LR. With a -14 curve haha. I would need this kind of test to score 175+ and nab that ruby. Otherwise I will need to go to NU or Michigan or retake because UChi with 90k (what they'd probably give a 4.0/low 170s) still leaves me with 150-200k in debt. Can't have that.
Anyway, did two LR sections today from the late 40s, both -1.

If the 70s are any indication, I think there will be a hard LR section and a hard game. I'm praying for easy RC.Mint-Berry_Crunch wrote:Anyone got any baseless predictions for what kinda test we're having? I'm kinda feeling a hard games section, medium LR and hard rc

The past 2 June tests have been -10s
So that's a thing
Watch em come at us with a -7

I'm hoping for standard yet moderately challenging games, hard LR (my LR is stable regardless of difficulty) and RC that has the first passage being an easy humanities with the hardest and second hardest being Law and Science respectively.Mint-Berry_Crunch wrote:Anyone got any baseless predictions for what kinda test we're having? As for order, I've done any and all combinations so I don't have much of a preference but if I could pick: LR RC LR (Exp.) LR LG

LOL then they'd better make all the games pure sequencing and take the RC out of high school textbooks.Mint-Berry_Crunch wrote:The past 2 June tests have been -10s

Or maybe they switch it up and go with a -15. Drop some Hegelian philosophy on us in RC

Takes for granted that a correlation between two variables indicates a causal relationship between two variablesMint-Berry_Crunch wrote:The past 2 June tests have been -10s

Re: The Official June 2017 Study Group
Upon blind review today I realized I made a bubbling mistake on C2 Question 1 of LR 2.............. and since there is no 177 possible this one, stupid mistake prevented me from getting a 178
Guess I'm glad I didn't actually misunderstand the first question of a section, but man do I feel stupid. Good news is I scored 180 on BR!

My ideal is a skull-crushingly difficult RC because apparently I can't do any other kind, a hard LG, 3 LR's with one of them being fullll of "Solve the discrepancy" because I love those.

Expectation: Hard RC, Easy LG, Medium LR1, Med/Hard LR2 11 point curve
Hope: Medium RC, Hard LG, Med/Hard LR1, Med LR2 12 point curve
Originally was hoping for early RC, but now IDC. Spent a lot of time soul searching after my week of -7/-8/-9 and realized I wasn't referring back to the passage enough. Thought it was due to sections being late in the test. Turns out it wasn't. Fixed that and have been -4 or better since.

Re: The Official June 2017 Study Group
Hope your expectation is right! LG seems to be the only sections where my performance has any correlation to consensus difficulty. LR is just always the same no matter what and I have tended to do better on the "traditionally hard" RC sections while I've struggled on others that most find easy.Future Ex-Engineer wrote:Mint-Berry_Crunch wrote:Anyone got any baseless predictions for what kinda test we're having?
