Re: The Official December 2014 Study Group
I'm working full-time, so my strategy has been to drill during the week after work, and then one PT on Saturday with review, followed by the same on Sunday. My biggest issue at this point is just a lack of consistency. RC is definitely my biggest issue, so that has been the bulk of my drilling over the last few weeks. Last week, I took PT 65 and scored a 173 (first time breaking 170), and followed that up with a 167 on PT 66 the next day.
This week's tests:
PT 67
RC: -1
LR1: -1
LG: -8 (just had a terrible section - usually average between -0 and -2)
LR2: -5
Scaled score: 166
PT 52
LR1: -2
LG: -3
LR2: -4
RC: -0 (first time that has ever happened)
Scaled score: 171

Those are great scores, brendo17! Have you been able to drill your problem areas? Or drilling RC? That could help. (Even though it looks like you're scoring great on RC!)
mist4bison =,(.
How are you studying/When?
lol Jgoods... I'm taking December and applying this year. If I don't get into any T-14 with money, I'm taking a year off and retaking. And all that is definitely not too much to ask for! I think you can get it. Just keep on studying hard and putting me to shame with all your drilling/PTing!

Tired of it?? LOL. There are a few like me who are taking it 3rd time in a row. The last two days, my brain has been on strike. I am so sleepy that I cannot function, and no amount of sleep is proving to be enough. I think I have to start running every morning from tomorrow.Jgoods wrote:eh it wouldn't be stupid if you were open with taking a year offWorldsCollide wrote:Hearsay

Did my first LG section since the September LSAT, and completed only 3 games. Now that's when you want to punch something.

Sunday work sucks. I had to be very clear at work that they have me for 40 hours a week, and that I am not going to take work home with me, no matter! I am no longer their favorite, but, that's not what I'm shooting for, I just do a good job and get out. LSAT needs time.Jgoods wrote:lucky... today will be a lame day of work... all i did was finish my RC then get review (have 3 RC passages left to review) and have work in 30 min till 9 -_- this lack of ability to study all day makes me want to quit... lolnlee10 wrote:9:20am and I "slept in" today. How are you studying/When?
I count TM class as studying, so I get 4 hours M/W, then T/Th I attempt and usually fail at studying after work from 7-10 (I'm just too exhausted from the day before/working all day), then F I get in about 3 hours after work, and the bulk is done throughout Sat/Sun. The only issue is that I'm now going in early/working late/working weekends, so that cuts down even more/makes me even more exhausted. Today I'm going in at 2-7 to cite check a brief and this entire week I'm going in early/staying late/working through lunch in order to do doc review for discovery. I'm going to start studying through my lunch (assuming I don't have to work through it like I have been the last week)
In other words...I'm freaking exhausted constantly.
ETA: I have a case going to trial in Jan, so let's hope I don't have to retake in Feb. In Jan I'll be at 70ish hour weeks.

As for RC, always have one clear answer! That is what works for me.

BTW, I looked at the 7Sage videos for my first LG section since September. I could get only three games done (no mistakes), and here's the thing, For all three games, my thought process is exactly the same as the 7Sage's. What am I doing wrong??

I had no time, well one minute for the fourth game.

Well, assuming that you have read the passage, understood it, and have your takeaways, you read the question and then read each choice, re-read the relevant part of the passage if need be, eliminate choices as you go, then the crucial bit is to end up with one clear answer, if you have more than one, don't just go with your hunch, always have a good reason to pick one and always have a good reason to leave the other one. Not sure if that answered your question, but, that's what I meant.

Well this is my second job so it's the only day I work bc of my other job so sat is my only day off... but bc I'm so tired after work on any day studying is a struggle so a full sat (which I don't even always get) and a full Sunday would be awesome help... but I hate quiting places plus I like my general manager so I'd feel bad having him be a man downlawjag2015 wrote:Sunday work sucks.
