Feels good. Starting to get my confidence back. I think I just need to wake up super early on the day of the LSAT, do a YUUUUGGGEEEE warmup section, and really get my brain firing on all cylinders.
Nice! I bet the weird games don't even bug you out anymore huh? lol

I just did a sciencey geologist passage that bored the hell out of me (they all do), and went 5/5. It's not up to par with your RC sKiiLLzZ but HEY I'm getting there! I'm starting to become more confident with this slight RC improvement that I'm seeing. I'm glad I finally found a way to actually approach RC in a better way than I was before, but I still have tons of improvement to make! :D
Tbh I've finally gotten to the point where I'm like "Oh, thank God, it's LG, I can relax".

Now I'm trying to get to that point with RC.

That's great! I've read high scorers on here say that LG should be that one section you just chill on with light brain work lmao. I'm happy that you got to this point with the games, good for you.

Keep grinding! Your BR score shows that you're understanding the test, so that's something very positive.

And a note for anyone reading this who isn't there, don't fret. At the beginning of this summer I was going -5+ on LG. You just have to drill drill drill. It will pay off.

Just BR'ed the LG games section I bombed last week. Hadn't touched any of that PT since taking it 'cause it rattled me a little too much.

-1.

Need to add daily LG warm-ups. I've been semi-neglecting them because they're definitely my strong suit.

Thanks; yeah. The main hopeful thing to me was the -3 on LR2 during the test. It shows that I'm definitely capable of reaching every question with high accuracy. I didn't really feel the need to guess on anything.

Yeah...easy games sections wreck curves. I actually thought it was worse b/c I thought it was a 171 first and I was thinking uhm - how? I'm not there yet, but I plan to be at the point that I hope for a miserable games section. Ironically, I found the supposedly hard game in the section (4) really easy. I know from my prep tests that if I get -3 one time (without guesses on a given section) that I'm capable of replicating it ... just need consistency.

I've actually started codecademy when I need an LSAT break. Always enjoyed my VBA and Excel "programming" classes. I use "programming" loosely as it isn't really code (VBA kind of is) but even the formulas got into some really nasty conditional logic for Monte Carlo simulations and such. It's also not entirely unrelated, as syntax is important in JavaScript. There's definitely LSAT and programming overlap.

I'm planning on taking my last time in September. LG on my others have been -0, and LR -2 to -4, but my RC has been all over the place. I used the bibles for the first one, but didn't find the RC bible to be really helpful at all.
Some people like the Trainer for RC, I just finished the Manhattan RC guide and highly recommend it.

Thanks for the input! I've heard good things about Manhattan's RC. I'll have to pick it up this week. I think that my RC is the only thing holding me back from a 175+, so really trying to get it locked down before September.

I took PT 33 casually during work over the last two days, untimed.
177 composite, -2 LR1, -3 RC, -1 LR2, -0 LG

RC was especially tough this time around, questions 26 and 27 were absurd. After going over my wrong answers, and reading the Manhattan explanations, I still don't get why a couple of them are wrong. Not sure how to change that...

OT: Has anyone started the new HBO show 'The Night Of...' yet? 2 episodes only so far but it's actually intense enough to get my mind off of the LSAT for a whole hour.

Saw both episodes of "The Night Of" so far. It is definitely kept me interested and I have no idea what is going to happen. Good stuff!

Do you guys think there's been a change in difficulty of LR from the older to newer tests? if so, in which direction?

I think newer one is more subtle and hard to score well on. There are some old lr qs that are out of left field, but it's still more formal imo.

I'm curious to know some people's approaches/tips to getting these 2 LR questions right:

"Most logically completes the argument" questions and "Evaluate the argument" questions

Most logically completes the argument seems straight forward, but there's answer choices sometimes that make no sense yet are right.

I don't really feel like i've done enough of the newer ones to say, but I've definitely noticed question types that I haven't practiced or really seen before popping up, and it throws me off a bit.

So a couple of days ago I mentioned I was going to buy some pencils and review them. I posted a more lengthy review w/ picture here: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... l#p9463317

Here are some quick thoughts on what I found. I basically compared the Ticon Blacks, Palomino Blackwing 602, and Staedtler Norica.

The Staedtler Norica was my favorite for a few reasons. The main one was that the Ticon seemed to scratch the paper and the Norica was smooth and glided on the paper. It made it easier to write neat, easier to bubble, and was more comfortable. I'm ambidextrous and switch the hand I write with sometimes and it seemed ok for both. Also, they seemed better for bubbling in answers. I think the lead is a bit more soft.

The Palomino Blackwing was similar to the Staedtler, but almost too smooth. Better for drawing; not for test taking. Also, when I tried with my left hand, it smudged... Incidentally, some have said this is ok for the test despite the fact it may not be a true #2, still I wouldn't risk it. Lastly, this thing does not erase well. Not recommended.

The Ticon Blacks are really good, too. If you're not as neurotic as me, I think they will do just fine. They erase a bit easier than the Noricas, but being that the lead is a bit more hard, the only downside is they don't seem as smooth. When writing fast the hard lead makes writing neat a bit more challenging.

I ended up buying 72 Noricas for like $20 at Staples. So they aren't expensive. Now I have enough forever! The Palomino Blackwings were like $17 for a dozen. And the Ticon Blacks are about $5 for 2 dozen. I also got the Palomino Blackwing sharpener which is great for giving your pencil a longer tip.

ETA: I'm going to PT this weekend with the 180 Watch and I'll post a full review for that somewhere. (Couple people messaged me to ask how it is so far)

Super!! Thanks for the thorough pencil reviews :D
I got some new pencils the other day, but they're not quite up to par. Will look into Staedtler Noricas.
