Re: The Official June 2017 Study Group
I'm literally dying today because I've been having this issue where I circle the right answer and somehow manage to bubble the wrong one on the form in each of my practice tests. Even been doing my drilling with a scantron to combat it and no problems but come practice test I'm falling apart. Anyone else having this issue or advice. I'm working with a tutor and she's even puzzled as to why this is happening on proctored tests but not my drills... Subconscious self sabotage?

Lol, I did PT 29 LG today and I went -1 and I looked at the question I got wrong and was like... what? I got this one right. Realized I bubbled that one in wrong. Did the same thing for another LG a day or two ago. So I'm kind of the reverse of you because I haven't done it on a proctored test yet but it makes me nervous all the same.vtdelt wrote:I'm literally dying today because I've been having this issue where I circle the right answer and somehow manage to bubble the wrong one on the form in each of my practice tests. Yea those test day nerves. I'm trying to talk myself off a ledge that today was a fluke because the place I'm doing my study through didn't have enough room so I volunteered to come back later in the day but I think that just messed up my flow with my normal practice test routine. Usually this issue is like 2-3 questions across all 5 sections. This time it was 10 and I'm not handling it very well. That's literally bye to any chance of a 170+ gone.Amerison

Holy hell, 10 misbubbled questions should not happen. Maybe just take a second after every question to make sure you actually bubbled in the one you want? Might cost you a point but infinitely better than losing ten (or even two).vtdelt wrote:Yea those test day nerves. Oh wow lol, that one just kinda clicked for me. I had trouble with the first game for whatever reason, I just wasn't making any inferences so it took me way too long.Neil_Gorsuch wrote:Believe it or not, 7Sage lists that as a difficulty 5 game so good on you.MediocreAtBest wrote:Did pt66 today in a loud coffeeshop while my friends were hanging out enjoying the nice weather AND while knowing I was missing the first half of the Champions League final.
RC:-2
LR:-3
LG:-0
Experimental RC:-3.
Score: 176
I got lucky on LG, almost totally blew it. Only had 5 minutes going into the last game, luckily it was easy and I could finish it in time. Feeling pretty good, I've improved on LR which was a big weak point and a big cause of stress for me. I haven't reviewed yet but I'm pretty sure that RC should've been -0. Looking forward to a similar performance next monday.

I never read the question stem before the stimulus. I didn't do that on LR1, where I finished just on time and I missed 2.
I was in the mood today and I decided to try to read the stem before for the LR2. Ended up with 8 minutes left and 0 mistakes, despite the fact that it was the last section. They are both 3 stars difficulty according to 7sage!

Yea, that's the problem. I'm usually checking before I turn the page but something just isn't connecting with me and I miss them but then catch them in my reviews. I'm doing more PT's this week to try and kill this thing and confirm this 10 question spread was a fluke since the last 3 tests it usually was 1-2 questions... And I'm not dyslexic or anything like that which is what's killing me.Amerision wrote:Holy hell, 10 misbubbled questions should not happen. The other thing that comes to mind of this incident is I'm on medication and I usually time it so that it doesn't impact me during the test and took based on doing the test at 10AM but then since I didn't start til 1 I had to redose in the middle of the test which does impact my concentration.

I thought the test was tomorrow on the 5th. I was glad though because now I have more time to review.

Re: The Official June 2017 Study Group
Just took PT 76 this morning.
Any recommendations on how to review? Should I blind review the whole test? Should I just review my wrong answers and the ones I had trouble with?
RC= -5
LR1= -2
LG= -3
LR2 = -5
score= 168
I was averaging at 170's before but when I started taking the 70's PTs, man, I am scoring much lower. (sigh)
Hopefully I score a 168 next week. LGs are much harder in the 70's too.

Took PT75 today:
LR1: -4
RC: -3
LR2: -3
LG: -3
Scaled 168
Although I've been more successful at the more recent weird games, I went on a totally wrong direction for the fourth game and didn't realize it until I had no time left. Eventually figured out but had to guess those last 3 questions.

Took PT 79 today at my Uni. The classrooms are all open and unused so I took over one and ran the 7sage Proctor on the speakers.
LR 1 -3 RC -3 EXP RC (PT 73) -1 LG -2 LR 2 -2
Scaled 171
Only one of my misses on LG was from the Virus game, other was from the last question of game 3 which I couldn't for the life of me understand at the time. RC Eilean Gray cost me 2 points directly and my third miss was because I only had 5 minutes to tackle the last passage plus questions, mainly because of that brutally hard Gray passage. Luckily that one only had 5 questions and while it was a bit challenging, it was on law which is my favorite subject to get. Not happy with -3 on LR1 but I'm hitting my goal scores consistently now so I guess I can't complain too much.
No PTs for tomorrow so I'll take tonight off to finish House of Cards and play video games. Will BR tomorrow.

Scaled ---> 177. God I needed this after essentially bombing PT 70. 7 days til game day. Probably gonna do 3 more PT's (saving a handful of PT's in case a retake is necessary). Still got a little bit of reviewing to do for LR, but feeling real good on RC lately.

That snaps a streak of five in a row over 170, the last two of which were a 177 and a 175. I really thought I had left the 160s behind. Two more wrong on this exam would have been a 167I really struggled with basically all of the first LR. I was moving slow and had to skip some questions towards the end because they looked like too much reading and I was running out of time. LR2 was almost just as rough and I was pretty lucky to get the last two right because again I was running low on time and picked ACs after just skimming the stim. Reading comp could have potentially been a disaster too, luckily I'm knowledgeable about refrigerant and CFCs and was able to get through that passage quickly because I got to it with only 5 min to go. I didn't feel like the games were that hard and thought it was going to save my score. Nope, -3. EFF!!
Ultimately, if I get a 169 on the real thing I will live with it and move on. But this is pretty disheartening on the heels of my recent tests and so close to test day.
To put things into perspective, what we consider bombing a PT is a dream score for 90%+ of test takers. We're the best of the best in here and our scores on the actual test will show this!

I was in a 168 rut and it was destroying my confidence. Went to a music festival last weekend. Didn't study for five days and instead just Music Festival'd. Came back and hit the 170's again. Sometimes you need a break. Don't be upset with yourself. We've been going at this for 6 months. One day (or even one weekend!) is a drop in the bucket.NavyNuke wrote:Running low on sleep and just wasn't feeling it tonight, so I skipped out on PT 78 and just drilled. Didn't want to waste the PT as I only have 3 clean recent ones left.
A little disappointing, kinda feels like I wasted the day. But, had I taken and bombed the PT I am sure I'd be feeling worse right now. Will for sure do 78 tomorrow.
Keep working everybody! We got this!!

Re: The Official June 2017 Study Group
Seems like a solid plan. Sunday will be pretty light for me, maybe some review and drilling. Go to bed early, wake up at my usual time, do a bit of warmup, 35 minute power nap from 1015-1045 ish, hit the road and get to the center 45 minutes early. Usual caffeine on Monday, but light on the liquids on Sunday night. Don't want to have to pee halfway through section 1...NavyNuke wrote:
What's everyones plan to avoid mid-day drowsiness on test day? I think I am not going to take a PT the day before. Test day: sleep in, go for a run, shower, get a coffee, then go to test center around 11:15ish and do warmups.
