speaking of, how expensive are drinks in nyc?

the water is free. and really good.
+1. This is why you pick NYC over Stanford. Gotta pay for that water in Cali now.

With you, if I can get into a T6 then everything is gravy
Same. Although Cornell is a decent backup

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA THAT IS A FUNNY JOKE
Literally the only way that will happen is if you want to live far from campus and/or in a crappy neighborhood.
Source: I live in NYC and I know what I'm talking about.
this is gonna sound really ignorant because I've only lived in crime-free suburbs and small towns my whole life, but is living in a crappy neighborhood that bad for a young twenty-something? Obviously wouldn't start a family in one, but does it get the job done if I just need a place to sleep between classes?

i didnt say i was going for no reason. you just dont like my reasoning i guess.
Perhaps it would be more accurate to say that you're going for a completely inadequate reason, then.

6-8 for craft beer? I'd imagine that it's around 8 more often that not, because I see a lot of $6 craft beer in Texas.

Usually $6-8 for a craft beer, $8-10 for well drinks and then exponentially higher for higher shelf stuff.
