Re: The Official June 2015 Study Group
Hey y'all. Does anyone have or know of an excel tracker I could use for my prepping? I have the Cambridge LSAT Tracker, but I would like to know if there's a better tracker out there. I plan on drilling and taking multiple practices test (10+) in preparation for the June LSAT. A tracker that measure my progress and highlights weak areas would be ideal.
Thanks in advance! I would make my tracker or tweak an existing tracker, but I'm a teacher who is already too busy making trackers for his classroom.

You can see my LG drilling spreadsheet here: http://top-law-schools.com/forums/viewt ... 6&t=241505
There is also a link to some Cambridge tracking products in that thread.
For PTs I have my own custom excel spreadsheet (probably will be converted to apple numbers) and I also use the free 7sage PT tracker/grader.
If you want to go beyond the online grading/tracking sites which show your question type weaknesses, there may be some good pre-made spreadsheets out there, but I'd recommend just making your own because it's not hard to do and it's doubtful that a pre-made one will match your studying style anyway.

Re: The Official June 2015 Study Group
Hey ya'll I've got great news to share! in the course of about a month, I only really started putting in effort at the beginning of the month, I went from a diagnostic of 154 to a 167 on my practice test!
I'm really excited because the majority of my missed questions were on The reading comp section because time was called before I finished the last passage. And I only started actively trying to improve on reading comp yesterday!(kinda backfired since I actually took longer reading the passages since I tried to extract as much info I thought was relevant as possible
I went from
-13 to -5 on LR
-16 to -2 on LG
and -7 to -8/ on reading comp.
It was the June 2013 test I just took using the youtube 7sage proctor video to handle the time.

Congrats on the quick improvement!
Can you tell me how you went from -16 to -2 on LG? That's by far my worst section so I'm wondering what book(s) you used, how you drilled, how many games you drilled, and any other advice you might have.

Re: The Official June 2015 Study Group
I did a bunch of logic games sorted by type. Then I watched all the youtube explanations for every and I messed up. Then I just redid all like 50~ some games of all types twice each time after enough time had passed so that I would forget the answer choices.
I never read any book on it, and personally to me at least it seems all repetition and it's a very visual skill so Videos just work better. Competing with my friend who has a 4.0 to my 3.5 and probably helped too since we each kept trying to outdo each other. Now I'm running logical circles around him :p

Zacboro, that's awesome that just reading gave you such large gains and I do have the newest LG Bible, but my experience has been a lot closer to Ruizdaw's: reading helped me a little bit, but it seems like most of my gains have come from practice. I actually think most of the LSAT is like that... the books can teach you the fundamentals, which are of course essential, but mastery must come from practice. The LSAT is mostly about experiential learning, for most people at least.

Re: The Official June 2015 Study Group
How do I get reading time down while maintaining accuracy? If I just do enough reading passages will it improve?
My strategy coming up is just to do as many reading comp passages as possible.

Re: The Official June 2015 Study Group
Oh sorry zacboro... I thought I remembered someone else saying they learned everything they needed just from reading, and I connected that with your comment, my bad. But yeah right now I'm focusing on accuracy over speed. The only games I've drilled twice so far are the basic linear ones, so I still have quite a bit of drilling to go before I can switch back to PTs and apply my skills to real sections.
RC is tough, but drilling should help. I try to underline key words and phrases like the subjects of paragraphs, viewpoint indicators, etc., which helps me find them again when I need to refer back to the text. You can waste a lot of time by skimming for something you remember reading but can't immediately locate in the passage. I'd also try just reading a lot outside of LSAT prep. I try to read at least 50 pages every day and I think that has helped me on RC.

Re: The Official June 2015 Study Group
Yeah I've procrastinated a lot as well... original plan was one per week starting like 6 months ago, then I just wanted a 170 by Christmas, then 170 by New Years... and now it's January 2nd. Lol.
I think I'll give myself another week to power through some LG drills. It's not like PTing now would be a waste of time, but I know that getting a low score from bombing LG would damage my confidence and generally make me unhappy.
