I made first contact. My mom had me come down to choose what I wanted for dinner. I think they feel bad because we're getting Chinese.Shakawkaw wrote:So much this. Also PWs.Dirigo wrote:This thread is Chicken Soup for the 0L Soul. We're here for each other.![]()
Update - I'm eating dinner right now. Mom went to sleep. Brudda and faddah are watching a movie. No contact made yet. Sigh.

Haha when she was texting me what I wanted for dinner inside I was like "Chinese! Chinese!" because of your post, but I didn't want to give her the satisfaction of me being anything other than blasé/indifferent. Then she suggested ChineseDirigo wrote:I'm such a trendsetter.koala-fy wrote: I made first contact. My mom had me come down to choose what I wanted for dinner. Update: mom came down to the kitchen to see if I was eating dinner. She also said "The hotel was okay. Not great."
All I said was "Dinner is great mom, thanks."
She is now sitting here talking to me about the trip and I'm sitting here nodding and typing this. What is life.

I dunno, with the LSAT you're waiting on a score that so many other decisions hinge on - did I get the score I need or didn't I, will I apply this cycle or sit out, do I need to retake and if so when, should I commit to that job, what have you. When you're applying, you've ostensibly assembled the best application you can. It's pretty much out of your hands at that point, and I imagine that to be pretty relieving, wait or no wait.

Re: DECEMBER 2014 WAITERS (New Poll!!)
Well, first she came in and was like "Do you want to apologize to me?" for storming off earlier.
And I said "Dinner is great, thanks mom."
She's basically recounting all the bad points of the trip. I'm like UHH THAT'S CAUSE YOU WERE MISSING THE PARTY BUS, AKA YOURS TRULY.
I asked her when they went - she said Dec. 3-10th or something. And I said "Cool, mom. I had finals then."

Hi! I don't mind sharing.Dirigo wrote:Sorry for opening a can of worms, hillz.koala-fy wrote:Hillz, what's your story?! Basically, I started studying back in Feb to take the June LSAT and I made a mid 160s score. I was really disappointed and felt that I had really underperformed partly due to outside factors (I got a promotion a few weeks before and my busiest time of year is in the summer). I was worried about taking the Sept. LSAT because it was only a couple of months away by the time we got June scores back and I spent a lot of time stressing out about not taking it/trying to quit my job/etc. etc. I ended up kicking it in to high gear and changed my strategy - rather than taking so many PTs, I focused on drilling and building up my weakness areas. I took in Sept and afterwards, felt really weird about it. I wasn't sure if I had done well or not, and I just made myself believe that I had gotten the same score as when I took previously so I wouldn't be disappointed when I got it back. I ended up making a score in the mid-170s.
Be brave enough to bet on you.

Re: DECEMBER 2014 WAITERS (New Poll!!)
Yeah, but that's not a perfect analogy. It's not the length of the wait for LSAT results that kills me, it's the uncertainty of outcome upon which so many other decisions hinge. I don't care if my LSAT score didn't get released till February if I knew that whatever I was getting was what I was getting, and that was that.smccgrey wrote:Just imagine if you had NO IDEA when your LSAT score release was happening. It could be as early as 3 weeks, or, you know, 5 months. And you had a tool that could check in on the status, but it only gave you A LITTLE INFO. Like if anyone has looked at your scantron yet.
