175.
LG: -2
LR: -5 overall ( back to back sections)
RC: -1

Highest i've ever scored on a PT by 2 points. Really just needed to tell someone. Getting really excited to move on to timed 5 section PT's soon and really begin the grind.

Congrats on the dope ass score!!!! Now all you have to do is add a stopwatch, and you're in business!
Thanks! I always end up just doing this by accident. Go from drilling a section, to just grabbing the next and then just deciding i might as well finish the PT. Pace has never really been an issue for me except for LG with tough games on the back end. Always seem to finish LR with at least 5 minutes to spare anyway. Just gotta dedicate that extra time to reviewing my answers within the section.

Double post because I've had wayyyy too much coffee this morning and just got another.

I'm also struggling to decide on a personal statement topic. I'm first gen college student, from low income, with single mom who didnt graduate high school, but I cant think of a way to frame this that doesn't come off forced or insincere.

Anyone else having similar problems feel free to hit me up, I'd love to bounce around some ideas.

All the good ones I've read choose an instance and write about it. It can be something super trivial even. THEN, weave your personal identity and struggles as a background to the narrative you are telling. It's not the plot, but the setting.

Going to work on some harder flaw questions today. I need to get these down because they seem to be a hit or miss for me with their abstract language that screws me up sometimes.

Down for me as well.

Fit: Up - it just takes a while to load (20 - 25sec).

Yeah! Tho I'm hoping by test day the last 5 minutes of each section will be just checking over work.

Haha, yeah, you don't get a major in political science without becoming a SJW.

Or, if you do, you didn't get the major the right way ;)

Btw, if anyone is interested in trading Why X's/Yale 250's/PS's, I'm down to review some.
Haha! I hear you on that!

I wish I had my Yale250 done. I can't choose! My personal statement needs some edits, but it is almost done. I just need a good conclusion to tie it all up.

Looking at my work schedule right now. I'll be lucky if I can drill for an hour a day. Going to have to get better with time management.

Not doing well on these LR questions at all. Welp, time to go to the grocery store and make another pot of coffee.

(@ brain - why are you doing this?? you got 10 hours of sleep and don't have to go to work. ??? )
You know sometimes when you sleep more than usual your brain gets sluggish and tired and actually works SLOWER than usual. Well that's been my experience lol and I read an article about it once.

I think you're supposed to get between 7-9 hours daily. I need to work on this.

Last night I went to sleep at 1:30am then I woke up at 4:30am and couldn't sleep until 6:30am. I forced myself to sleep (I woke up at 10am today    ) but I wanted to be somewhat productive so I made sure I got some sleep in..
That's definitely what I've noticed. I'm pretty consistently zonked out on saturdays for that reason - which makes me a bit concerned, but I suppose I won't be sleeping in or feeling remotely chill on LSAT day sooo.

Ugh that sounds super unpleasant. fragmented sleep is no fun, even if it totals to an okay amount :(
Yeah. My goal is no more sleeping in for me, although today I woke up around 9:30am.

I'm going to try and wake up every day around 6 or 7am, and a month before the test so probably September, wake up around 5am. That should be enough time to wake up my body and get the mental juices running!

Fragmented sleep SUCKS. Yesterday was absolutely horrible, I was exhausted all day.

Burt Macklin wrote:
PY gives timing criteria / strategy for each of the LG questions. Do you base your timing off of those?
No. For the majority of games my goal is to be between 5-7 minutes, I usually make it within 6 minutes. So, the tricky games for me are games that take me mentally longer than others. I don't think everyone's mental state is the same, so for example a lot of people have trouble with the flights game (Montreal-Vancouver etc) but I can get that done within 6 minutes so I don't put JY's suggested time for that. Also, I feel his time allotment for some of the games is very generous and if I went into the test with such generous time slots I'm not sure I could complete the LG section!

That said, I helped a friend with an older game the one where there are 5 apartments with one or two people in each and L is by him/herself. Then you have to figure out the distributions for them you figure out its 2-2-2-1-1. For some of the questions you have to create hypotheticals. So a game like that (which I don't think is necessarily difficult) I give myself between 7-8 minutes because you have to do the setup, do a hypothetical to realize the distributions, numerical distributions, and find hypotheticals for the answer choices.

The reason I do this is because I know on test day I will need at least a minute or two for each game because of nerves. Also, I will want to have extra time to recheck games because it only takes the blink of an eye to make a mistake that can be fixed in a quick review. To me, LG is like taking a math test, you can be confidant and know your material well but it's easy to make a mistake when your on a time crunch. In a math test, when you have extra time you can check your answers to confirm you did each question correctly, when you do that you can correct a stupid mistake you made and get that extra point.. LG is like that.

Alexandros wrote:Going to go to the library and start photocopying a bunch of 15+ LR questions tomorrow.
I need to start photocopying RC too considering how much I scribble on passages / questions, but I still have to decide how to deal with the fact that they're two pages for a passage. (Staples? Giant paper? )
When I print an LR/LG/RC set for drilling I print it double sided. For RC what I do is print the first page single sided and the rest double. That way it saves money and paper!

I don't know if you have a printer, but I use my mom's so I buy printer paper from Target or Fry's Electronics. Fry's has $.99 sales 1x per month!

Discovery I've made about myself.

1 grande a day= productive, forward thinking, energized.

2 grandes a day= panicky, anxious, convinced everyone hates me.

YES! It's down for me and SO slow when you try to move to the next page, not to mention the GATEWAY ERROR messages. I opened up multiple browsers on both mozilla and internet explorer!

I'm thinking of giving up on 7Sage for now and hit RC or LG and hope it becomes normal when I get back to it.
