Re: The Official June 2015 Waiter's Thread
What if someone wanted to go to law school in order to have a complete understanding of contracts and the law in general, which would allow he or she to become a better owner and manager of a corporation? Accordingly, this individual wouldn't be a 'lawyer' but I could see how going to law school would be a definite benefit if someone had aspirations to become a successful business executive.drtamale wrote:buckiguy_sucks wrote:its dumb to go to law school if you don't want to practice law there's no benefitdrtamale wrote:anyone else going to law school and not planning on practicing law afterwards ? at least immediately afterwards. i plan to maybe do an extra year of environment law after the first 3 and then apply for a graduate soil science program. cant see myself being a lawyer, but im sure ill love law school. but yes, plans can change. anything can happen.
there might be a benefit one day. plus ill enjoy law school. i live for the moment.

again, those valuable skills might be worth it if you are sitting on a vast fortune and have no responsibilities for three yearsOp_Diom wrote:What if someone wanted to go to law school in order to have a complete understanding of contracts and the law in general, which would allow he or she to become a better owner and manager of a corporation? Re: The Official June 2015 Waiter's Thread
even if you get it for half that price, or a fourth, or free, how can you justify three years of not working - but still paying for food and rent and happy hour - at probably the most critical time in your life just because you want to be able to say you went to law school (let's face it - that's what this boils down to)?drtamale wrote: yup. except the law school i will go to will not be anywhere near that price.

Does anybody else have plans to slave away in a Manhattan firm until you make partner and become an eccentric millionaire?
