I feel your pain. But I decided to go for it. I had a shitty first score and have been pushing cycles for 3 years now for one excuse or another. This time I studied, sent my apps before I even took my test, and now I'm just going to wait and see what happens. Crazy decision but I can't put it off anymore :/

EXACTLY. The timing of everything sucks! I wish we could just get our scores and know right away!! Congrats on the interview though - that's awesome

Regarding this whole parents thing: it's easy to forget they have your best interest at heart, especially since they tend to not be the best at showing it. But learning doesn't stop when you're an adult, and no one taught them how to be parents; they're just figuring it out as they go along. I think the best approach is to remind them you're on the same team, and that you want what they want for you a hundred times over. Just explain to them in their terms why what you're doing is in your best interest, and I think that will go a long way towards reassuring them.

I love this. That's kind of what I was trying to express earlier re: them wanting me to be happy above all. Thank you for putting it so eloquently Wolf.
