I could've written that post, Rigo. Keeping stuff to yourself is definitely the right move. Their big thing is that they hate NOT being in the loop and they want to know everything I'm doing in terms of this stuff. Funny, because they aren't like that in any other aspect of my life - relationships, friends, what I'm doing, etc. I have always been able to do whatever I wanted (within reason). They were never overbearing about any of that stuff. When things are fresh for me/in progress though, I really hate telling people about it because I don't like things to be picked apart until I've finalized or come to terms with something. I often feel like I can never win or I'm letting them down too lately. It wasn't ever this bad before though. Like it's gotten to the point where I could see myself, say, getting a job, and my dad saying "well, it could've been a better one if you had done XYZ." It sucks, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if that happened.
