That's something else I have to get off my list. I procured a new LoR, but I still need *another* one for Stanford, because the new one I received I used for their waitlist. Got to dance with some T14s, some of which made promising advances, but my true lady, Stanford, has a long list of gentlemen waiting to dance with her. I'm still in line, but did also re-take the June LSAT to make overtures again in the upcoming cycle.TheWalkingDebt wrote:New friend ITT. Also, how many of us have already worked on our personal statements?
I really feel like I had an awesome PS last cycle (was commented on by NYUs dean of admission, but he does it for everyone so whatever). I was really frustrated that T3s like Stanford, Harvard and Yale have you re-write your statement. After investing a significant amount of time in writing and re-writing on a topic, selecting another topic, writing and re-writing on that, and after using many of my students' left over composition books (the struggle is real), I am beginning to feel slightly content with my PS.
I also don't want to get ahead of myself, but I have started working on my Yale 250 essay (last year YLS mailed me an admission package that identified me as a high performing minority, which included sample PS and 250 word essays). I don't perceive it as a losing situation, because for the rest of the law schools, I will be expanding the 250 word essay into a more substantial diversity statement essay.
This cycle I will also be more invested in my pursuit of all T14s, and will be penning "why" essays for the colleges that seem to need it the most (Duke, UVA, Penn, Northwestern). However, THIS will definitely wait until the applications are available to us.
I don't know. It feels good to have a productive week like I just did.
We're just starting to sense the tip of the anxiety iceberg here, mate. When I got my first acceptance last cycle, I was waiting for more to come. And they did, but slowly and tortuously -- through interviews and the like.
