yeah, trying to correlate the curve with your perceived difficulty is futile. I thought PT 73 and 74 were both tough yet they had a -12 curve whereas I didn't think PT 71 was all that hard yet had a monster -14 curve.appind wrote:it may be better to not know the answer to this question before taking the test. knowing in advance may make the test not fully blind and affect how you approach it.chalky wrote:Chopped up PT66 yesterday for the RC and games sections. Is PT71 considered a hard test? -14 to 170 seems kinda high?

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
Considering I was PTing around 165 and I just got a 160 on PT70, I'd say I am contemplating jumping off the edge and extremely depressed.
I wanted to get a 167 atleast but I guess ill just take it October because I am already registered even if it will shit score.

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
Jumping on the disappointing score train: I did PT 62 today and I could only complete 2 of the games. I left 8 questions blank. That means that after literally hundreds of LG drills, I got basically the same score as my diagnostic (for LG, idk what the overall is yet). I just couldn't understand the middle two games for some reason; I couldn't even answer the acceptable situation questions. This is disheartening, to say the least. Idk if I should take October and hope I get lucky with easy games, move back to December, or even rethink applying this year entirely.

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
Just to add slight nuance to the PT misery topic, I have been scoring worse on used PTs that I've taken before than I am on fresh PTs (June '15 retaker here). Everything I've read + common sense would suggest it would be easier to perform highly on these since you're familiar with the questions. Instead, I pysch myself out and convince myself I missed particular Qs the first time I took it and that the correct answer here MUST be A...even when it's not. The good news is I'm doing relatively well on fresh PTs that I haven't seen, as well as some of the really old ones that I don't remember much at all.
I think there may be a limitation to how helpful reusing old PTs is if you've blind reviewed them all. Or maybe I'm just a nut.

ETA: Also, because of y'all I'm not taking PT 72. PT 73, 74, and 75 will be my last ones.

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
I'd consider doing 72 and 75 actually...for the games specifically. I thought 73 and 74 were mirror images of itself. But 72/75 on the other hand felt a bit different due to LG.Mint-Berry_Crunch wrote:I would at least review 72. Esp the games I think it's really indicative of what the newer games are like. Okay, guys, remember that this is a test of SKILLS not knowledge. No one in here has suddenly lost some of their skill set. You're just letting nerves get in the way. Everyone in this thread has worked WAY too hard to let their nerves get the best of them last minute. You are MORE competent at this test than you were one, two, or three weeks ago but you are also more nervous. Do not let the nerves ruin your hard work!

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
I should have specified--I plan to take 73, 74, and 75 as PTS, but plan to drill 72. 72 will still be done, just not under timed conditions. I don't want to freak myself out right before the test.nlee10 wrote:I'd consider doing 72 and 75 actually...for the games specifically. I thought 73 and 74 were mirror images of itself. Who is advising people not to take Pt 72 and why?
The only reason you shouldn't take Pt 72 is to save for retake study, in which case I would advise an earlier test to save.

PT 57
LG: 22/23
LR (exp): 21/25
LR1: 23/26
LR2: 23/25
RC: 20/27
168
This is absolutely a retake from at least 9+ months ago. The only section I remember is LG though cuz of the infamous game. Not enough where I recalled the special inference in that game but w/e. I finished by the 30 minute mark however.

We're less exciting than the June 2015 crew. Let's just admit it.Mint-Berry_Crunch wrote:PatriotP74 wrote:Have not done much today besides work, gonna review section 2 of PT 73 from last night. At this point I plan to take maybe 2-3 more PT's between now and test day and drill games. There isn't a ton we can do from here on out, keep looking at weaknesses but no reason to try and crunch 10 pt's in now. I'll take it easy and go into test day relaxed as I can be.
Are we even gonna make it to page 180 by test day? If so we need to get going.
Lurrrkerrsssss come out and playay.
