Yay, I didn't suck in RC!
I warmed up by doing one untimed game from PT62, which I took three days ago. That might have helped because I absolutely killed LG today. There was none of that LG lethargy I was feeling in previous PTs. Inferences came quick, and I was able to manipulate the rules in my head so that I knew which AC to verify first even in questions requiring PoE, and the AC I chose to verify first were invariably TCR. This allowed me to rush through this section; I had 10 minutes left to check over answers. Now this is how I want to start off the LSAT.
Things went downhill really quickly after that.
LRe was awful. I ran out of time before I could come up with an answer to two of the questions. They weren't the last two questions--they were just questions I had skipped because I couldn't figure out the answers the first time through (I managed to eliminate some ACs, but that was it), and I had barely enough time to finish the last question, let alone reconsider the questions I'd skipped. I decided to give myself a few extra minutes to figure those questions out and I was ultimately able to get the right answers, but I didn't give myself credit for them since they were completed after time was called. I can't even blame this on burnout because I took the last two days off doing nothing LSAT-related. Maybe LR needs a little warm-up, too?
LR1 was much better; I was still strapped for time but not nearly as much as I was in LRe, and I was more confident about the accuracy of my answers. That was despite some evil questions that were flat-out trying to trick me. I know every section has those, but this section had some blatant ones.
LR2 felt a little worse than LR1 in terms of accuracy, but it felt better in terms of pacing. I had 12 minutes to go with 5 questions left, so that's pretty good.
The LR-LR-LR sequence actually wasn't that bad, probably because the least cognitively taxing LR section came last, while the most cognitively taxing LR section came first. It got better.
RC went really well, all things considered. The first two passages were really long, but I kept a steady pace and was doing pretty well for time when I reached Noguchi. That passage sucked a lot of time and certainly had some tough questions, but I felt pretty good about my answers. I still went -2 on the passage, but I'm ok with it. The last passage, thankfully, was pretty easy and allowed me to have time to check over some answers.
Recently I've been asking myself (after taking the PT and before scoring it) whether I would cancel based on my perception of my own performance. I certainly would not have cancelled because I knew I killed LG, did well in RC, and did well in LR2. I didn't feel as good about LRe and LR1, but I knew one of those had to be the experimental, so really I had only one bad section. I know when I do well in RC and well in at least one non-exp LR, I get a good score.
