Do PT 53s logic games.

Out of all the recent practice tests, I think these ones were the EASIEST I have done in the last month or so.

Got -0 and for the first time ever, finished with 5 minutes, Yes no bullshit, 5 minutes of spare time :)

It's also good practice because the second game uses a Not both sequencing rule and you probably want to familiarize yourself with these strange/rare types of rules that don't always appear.

Hi all,

I've been reading and following this thread on and off for ages now, never posted though (obviously). With 4 days left  I'm thinking of going through 2 more PTs and was wondering if you guys thought it would be necessary to order the most recent ones? Out of 58-62. I notice most of the posters here are taking the late 50s/60s now...

I went through the Superprep book, and not all but a good chunk of two of the "10" series (the ones with the PTs in the 20s and 30s). I also took a few in the 40s and 54, 56, and 57. I haven't taken 53 or 55 yet. Do you think it would be best to buy one of the later 5, or should I just take 53+55? I'm not too sure on whether there's enough difference between the most recent to justify buying them?

Thanks for any replies. =)

i would definitely get one of the later 5, i think the LR feels a little diff and it's worth checking out.

PT 60 yesterday was a 173. I am really annoyed that I am still going -2 on most LG just because I am feeling rushed. LR was generally good but I did an RC experimental, so having the real RC last really hurt. I was in a terrible test taking environment (picture Stewie Griffin: "MOM! MOM! MOM! MOM! MOM! MAMA!" in a public library); hopefully I can concentrate better today.

I am doing 57 today and 61 tomorrow and then I will probably call it quits for PTs. 175+ FTW!

I was planning on pt 62 today, but I wasn't feeling it. I have other days where I tell myself "I don't wanna take a pt today!" and then I bombed it. I know my abilities and I think that taking a test today which could result in me bombing it could do more to hurt my confidence than anything else. Thus, I'm not going to take pt 62. My schedule for the rest of the time is:
Friday: PT 57's RC and LR2
Saturday: PT 60's LR1 and LG
Sunday: PT 60's LR2 and RC

I'm not going to grade any of these since they are just to keep my mind fresh. I took pt 59 on monday and pt 61 on tuesday and got results that I would be thrilled with on both. I think that this is the best plan to keep me fresh and not burnt out. I've always been told that tuning it down on the last week is the best plan and so that's just what I'm doing. Here's hoping that TLS wisdom helps.

Thank you...I think I'll pick up 59+61 (sort of arbitrary, but based loosely on what I saw the last few pages) unless someone thinks there's one I should definitely pick up over those.

Anyways, good luck to everyone!

Back from two days off LSAT prep.

PT59
LG: -0
LRe (PT24 S3): -4
LR1: -1
LR2: -2
RC: -2
Raw: -5
Scaled: 178

Yay, I didn't suck in RC!

I warmed up by doing one untimed game from PT62, which I took three days ago. That might have helped because I absolutely killed LG today. There was none of that LG lethargy I was feeling in previous PTs. Inferences came quick, and I was able to manipulate the rules in my head so that I knew which AC to verify first even in questions requiring PoE, and the AC I chose to verify first were invariably TCR. This allowed me to rush through this section; I had 10 minutes left to check over answers. Now this is how I want to start off the LSAT.

Things went downhill really quickly after that.

LRe was awful. I ran out of time before I could come up with an answer to two of the questions. They weren't the last two questions--they were just questions I had skipped because I couldn't figure out the answers the first time through (I managed to eliminate some ACs, but that was it), and I had barely enough time to finish the last question, let alone reconsider the questions I'd skipped. I decided to give myself a few extra minutes to figure those questions out and I was ultimately able to get the right answers, but I didn't give myself credit for them since they were completed after time was called. I can't even blame this on burnout because I took the last two days off doing nothing LSAT-related. Maybe LR needs a little warm-up, too?

LR1 was much better; I was still strapped for time but not nearly as much as I was in LRe, and I was more confident about the accuracy of my answers. That was despite some evil questions that were flat-out trying to trick me. I know every section has those, but this section had some blatant ones.

LR2 felt a little worse than LR1 in terms of accuracy, but it felt better in terms of pacing. I had 12 minutes to go with 5 questions left, so that's pretty good.

The LR-LR-LR sequence actually wasn't that bad, probably because the least cognitively taxing LR section came last, while the most cognitively taxing LR section came first. It got better.

RC went really well, all things considered. The first two passages were really long, but I kept a steady pace and was doing pretty well for time when I reached Noguchi. That passage sucked a lot of time and certainly had some tough questions, but I felt pretty good about my answers. I still went -2 on the passage, but I'm ok with it. The last passage, thankfully, was pretty easy and allowed me to have time to check over some answers.

Recently I've been asking myself (after taking the PT and before scoring it) whether I would cancel based on my perception of my own performance. I certainly would not have cancelled because I knew I killed LG, did well in RC, and did well in LR2. I didn't feel as good about LRe and LR1, but I knew one of those had to be the experimental, so really I had only one bad section. I know when I do well in RC and well in at least one non-exp LR, I get a good score.

Did PT 44 game section. Perfect score in about 20 minutes. That was a confidence builder, though games shouldn't be a problem at all. Margin for error there is just about zero.

I'll do a 4-section PT this afternoon.

December 2010 (PT 62, I think?)

RC: -2
LR1: -2
LG: -1
LR: -0

Raw: 97
Scored: 178.

Best LR EVER! First LG question wrong in my last half-dozen PT's, and I still pulled this one. I think I'm taking tomorrow off, I'll just do my last 2 diags untimed. I won't beat this, and I want my confidence high heading into Monday.

Finally broke through to 170 on a PT!
Scored a 156 on the December LSAT, and I have spent the last two months working through the LG Bible(finished) and the LR Bible (3/4 finished)

PT53- 158
PT54- 156
PT55- 160
PT56- 164

...and today on PT 58
LR -4
RC -2
LR exp -4
LG -1
LR -4
Raw 90 Scaled 170
Still not expecting a 170+ on the real test, but it feels good to have that much improvement. LG Bible helped more than anything.

Last night I had an LSAT dream, 5 months after my final LSAT test. I dreamt I was just taking the June test for fun because I'm already set on which school I was going to, so I gave up in section 2. Then EVERYONE started talking to each other and sharing answers because the proctor was foreign. lol.

Said I was done with TLS but wanted to drop by one last time with my final PT!

PT62
RC: -2
LR1: -2
LG: 0
LR2: -3
Raw: -7
Scaled: 176

Was really intimidated from what everyone had said about this PT but did well. RC was pretty easy I thought.

LR went well, -5 is within my goal range. Not really gonna nitpick at this point, just hoping to stay consistent.

LG, wow. I didn't find stained glass hard, but for some reason I spent 10 minutes on the sequencing game to start. I opted to do the easy sequencing Game 4 before the conferences game, which left me with only about 8 minutes flat to do it. I sort of guessed the entire thing, in other words I assumed a key inference that I hadn't proved, and just hoped that it was true, especially since it was making all the answers make sense. Worked out, really pleased with acing such a notoriously hard section.

Good luck to all, it's been a pleasure to be a part of this thread. I'll be hearing from all of you non-stop I'm sure in the "June 2011 Waiting Thread" Monday night. Let's kill this!

And here it is, my last PT before the real thing.

PT61
RC: -1
LR1: -3
LGe (PT24): -0
LG: -0
LR2: -0
Raw: -4
Scaled: 178

PT24 composite
RC (5/28): -1
LR1 (5/29): -1
LR2 (6/2): -4
LG (6/3): -0
Raw: -6
Scaled: 177

Lesson today: don't give up after a few bad sections. RC wasn't horrible, but there were just so many questions where I couldn't decide between two ACs, and though I went with what I thought were the better choices, I suspected I could get anywhere between -0 and -7 in RC. And LR1 was really difficult, which shook my confidence. But instead of being down and wasting time worrying about how poorly I did, I bounced back on the back-to-back LG sections (both of them fairly easy, fortunately) and killed LR2. I was sure I got -0 or -1 in LR2 even before I scored it.

As for whether I would have cancelled this, it was a tough call because I really thought I did worse in RC and LR1 than I did. But I decided not to cancel before scoring the exam because I knew I did well in LG and LR2, and with some luck and a good scale, I knew a good score was possible. Boy, am I glad I decided not to pull the trigger. It's going to take a real disaster to get me to cancel.

I'm going to review this exam, do a few passages, and review LR before quitting LSAT prep forever. I'm taking tomorrow and Sunday off. On Monday morning, I'm going to do one game and 5 LR Qs untimed to warm up before I get my 180.

Good luck to everyone. The sense of camaraderie here really helped me a lot because it made me feel like I'm not going at it alone. I hope we all great scores so that in a few months law schools will be fighting for us. :)

So what does everyone have planned for the last two days? I have two sections of the June 2007 PT to finish tomorrow but haven't decided if I want to do another.

I'm taking the same test I took my first time around (58) tonight, just 4 sections, and that's it. I might flip through the RC Guide and LRB just to refresh my memory this weekend, but no serious studying after tonight.

Doing September 2009 (PT 58) this afternoon, untimed and informal, then tomorrow going over every wrong answer I've gotten on the 15 diagnostics I've done. Sunday I'm going to play golf and eat Indian food, and Monday morning wake up relatively early, do a couple easy games, and a reading section.

Taking two sections (LR and RC) today plus drilling LG since the 40's, maybe taking a full test tomorrow, and doing 1 RC and 1 LR plus drilling LG Sunday.
