LR is the 40s can be weird bro. If you're seeing improvement, it's because of you, not the test.wtrcoins3 wrote:You're totally improvingitachiuchiha wrote:not sure if i am improving or the LR section in the preptest in the 40s are just easy
I hope I am improving. The 40's aren't substantially easier in general to me than the others (possible exception of the first ~10 which are just weird).

Re: JUNE 2013 Study Group / Study Partner Thread
Hello TLS!
Although I've been lurking these past few weeks, I've definitely been more lax on the studying front than I'd like. I've been getting crushed with work and a few social obligations...but I've officially decided to limit going out to once a week/no drinking for April/May (with the exception of 2 weekends).
I've taken about 4 PTs so far, averaging a 165. I want to be consistently in the 170s by the end of the month. I'm planning on taking PT 63 and another PT on Thursday/Friday.
I currently have 2 chapters left in the MLSAT LR guide, and then I just move onto the RC book (although I'm ok with RC, so I'm not very worried about the PT/learning strategies overlap).
I'm really just struggling on how to be consistent with LR — on the same PT I might go -9 with one section, -2 with the next section. I'm using LSATQA to pinpoint my weaknesses and trying to drill them, but I still feel like I'm lacking on understanding my review...like, I determine why I got the answer wrong and read an explanation about the correct AC, but I don't think it's sticking since I feel like I could (and probably will) make the same mistake again.
Any ideas on how to break the 165 in this final stretch? I appreciate all thoughts!

That's interesting-- usually I've seen it with RC like that. And usually LR1 is better for me than LR2, which I figure is because of endurance issues. Do you both have specific question types (strengthen, parallel, etc.) that get you, or a combination of the two? Are you on LSATQA to check?rebexness wrote:I did this last night so I am hopeful someone else has a good answer.ready4180 wrote: I'm really just struggling on how to be consistent with LR — on the same PT I might go -9 with one section, -2 with the next section.

If I do LR 1 as the first section, I usually have a high amount of dumb errors (haven't settled into test, adhd).
I usually get it down to choose between 1-2 and choose incorrectly, comparing the answers to each other instead of the question. So I am working on that.

Hey guys
I need help with inference questions. I know the AC must be provable but does anyone have a quick and dirty was to nail them. I have read the MLR and I totally understand find the conclusion and find the gap for SA & NA and all that good stuff but I got nothing for MBT questions. You help is really appreciated guys.

Yeah, I am in LSATQA. Weaken and Point at Issue are randomly problematic for me, so I've been drilling those intensively. Also, I notice that around q17 I get a little fatigued, so at that question I usually try to stop for a bit and take a break by looking around the room.wtrcoins3 wrote:That's interesting-- usually I've seen it with RC like that. I gues taking a break is a clear scenario in my situation, sometimes u just need it,studying weeks in a row gets on u ,especially when one gets stressed about other things,I guess the next two months I will cut off w everyone ,even w my parents, and my ego to kill the LSAT will push me to do this,I guess studying every day from 7am-10 am is enough and I should just follow that routine till the test, any inspirational advice would be appreciated.

Takes a little while to get used to but you really have to do like rebexness posted above you. Don't compare the answer choices to one another, compare them to the stim you just read. Go through them methodically, and just ask yourself "based on the info in the stim, must this be true?"lsatkid007 wrote:Hey guys

On days you guys take PT's, do you do anything else study wise other than maybe reviewing your PT afterwards?

If I can find time in the weekday with work to do it, then usually not. Maybe another RC section in the evening.CardozoLaw09 wrote:On days you guys take PT's, do you do anything else study wise other than maybe reviewing your PT afterwards?
On weekends I often will, since that's the only time I have the possibility of many hours of study.

Who's excited for the waiting thread?! Who's even more excited for the tensest hour or two (or seven) of our lives once ICONS GO GREY?! I'll most likely be at work, should be a real productive day...

Re: JUNE 2013 Study Group / Study Partner Thread
So I diagnosed at a 147 and up until a week ago i have been pting at the 150-153 range, now my last 3 test from PT 40 have been in the 157-161 range. So I guess I am improving, which is a great thing
But I feel that I am not doing enough, I am pretty much just PTing and reviewing, I've drilled everything there was to drill, I've done the bibles, manhattan interact, the strategy guides, etc. Now all I have left are PTs which I do in less than 4 hours and review in 1-2. What more can I do besides this other than drill? I am thinking about going back through the bibles again.

I would really like to be OP, but I'm pacific time, so I'm sure someone will be beat me to it. This will be my third, and hopefully last, waiting thread. I plan on being a fixture in drunken chat and also being the most neurotic poaster. I can assure everyone I will not discuss anything LSAT related after the 10th except for scoar release. I will not help people figure things out, I will not be discuss the test, I WILL BRING THE DERP.rebexness wrote:I'm going on vacation from a few days after test day until the day or so before scoar release.wtrcoins3 wrote:Who's excited for the waiting thread?! Do you think we can petition the mods to have them place me as OP? I think I would do a solid job policing LSAT question specific discussion.rebexness wrote:A VOTE FOR THE DEPUTY IS A VOTE FOR FREEDOM.

PT 52:
Section I (LR): 23 (-2)
Section II (LG): 23 (-0)
Section III (LR): 24 (-1)
Section IV (RC): 24 (-2, one question removed)
Raw Score: 94
Adjusted Score: 176
Pretty happy with this score as a baseline. Now on to the Manhattan guides!
