So I basically have no fresh material outside of some ancient sections and a few 40s tests. A lot of you in a similar situation?

I did a couple of the LG sections that weren't almost exact copies of June 2007.PourMeTea wrote:Yep. I got the Cambridge packets for 1-30something so hopefully that will help. Are you suggesting you never looked at anything 1-30something?

Just my PT 1-38 LR and RC packets and two of India's test. How many tests are you looking to get done? I am thinking about 10 max on my end, including retake of 70.Otunga wrote:So I basically have no fresh material outside of some ancient sections and a few 40s tests. 10 sounds about right. Probably the couple 40s tests I have fresh, along with some 50s and 60s third takes, and 70. Obviously only the 40s and the retake of 70 (possibly) will be close to representative.AAJD2B wrote:Just my PT 1-38 LR and RC packets and two of India's test. My LR results for 70 were just bizarre. -9 on what was consistently my strongest section going in leaves me mind-boggled.bee wrote:yeah i'm only going to do 10-12 PTs this time around, as my problem isn't with stamina or timing, but with one particular section. i'll be doing some mostly fresh 50s and some 60s i've only touched once, with lots of heavy drilling from 1-40s (hopefully)Otunga wrote:10 sounds about right. I noticed you're taking 57. That should give you some LG fun.

Same here. -10 on LR when I'd been getting -4 was really odd. I left the test feeling the questions were weird, though. Did you?Otunga wrote:

Re: December 2013 Retakers
Yes, I did. Though my exp. LR was REALLY weird, so perhaps that's why. Either way, someone did say to me how much wordier the prompts seemed in comparison to the other recent tests. Actually, I think immediately following the test that day, I said it felt like I was doing LR questions from the Cambridge packets, as they felt like 1-20 LR. I hadn't done worse than -6 on LR in the 60s, and that was just one test. Throughout my prep, I've preferred the 60s LR the most, actually.samoby wrote:Same here. -10 on LR when I'd been getting -4 was really odd. I left the test feeling the questions were weird, though. I was mostly a lurker on the Oct waiting thread but I'm gearing up to retake in December and want to be more active. I just ordered the LSAT trainer. I'm also going to do way more PTs What's everybody else doing?
Also, I totally hate the test center I'm registered for in December, tiny desks. I'm going to check to see if I can change to something better. I'm in Los Angeles btw.
SC LS facilities were excellent. Registered for December there.

Re: December 2013 Retakers
Okay......is it reasonable to get through Manhattan LR and the Trainer for December? Should I bother with the other Manhattan books if I buy the Trainer? Other thoughts/advice?
I have a 4.0 UGPA and I am (...or was....) shooting for H. In a stroke of fabulous luck, I misdiagrammed the Movies game and missed every question. Combined with a few questions I threw from nerves, I set myself a record low score.
My prep materials are somewhere between craptastic and nonexistent. I half assed myself to a 174 PT average through self study, LR & LG Bibles from 2007, and an LSAT Blog study schedule I didn't follow. Unsurprisingly, I never mastered the question types that gave me trouble. If I could figure those out, I think I could bump myself from -2/-3 LR section average to -0/-1. Is a Manhattan/Trainer combo likely to do that?

Re: December 2013 Retakers
With the amount of time we have between now and December, I would personally recommend just getting the Trainer. That way you can work through it without rushing and still have lots of time dor PTing and Drilling. I've gone through all Three MLSAT books and also the trainer, and I think at your score level the Trainer will be the best use of time between the two. Namely because, as I mentioned, you want to still have time for other forms of studying.SkepticalAboutLaw wrote:Okay......is it reasonable to get through Manhattan LR and the Trainer for December?
