I value the social aspects of libertarianism far more than the economic aspects. I just wish that the major socially liberal party in the US would drop the gun issue so that I could vote for them with a somewhat clear conscience. Until then, I'll "stick to my guns" on my economic concerns

Imo, better to just say that than try to justify a completely irrational viewpoint which is hardly yours.

I think taxation is theft, I'm just willing to live with it relative to some other things that I see as bigger issues to my well being

You said you support public schools and whatnot - How are you going to fund those things with taxes? I understand not agreeing with where the government allocates tax dollars, wanting small government, thinking taxes should be reduced, being against certain kinds of taxes, etc. but I'm struggling to reconcile being completely against taxes with your current views.
Unless you're speaking on a purely philosophical level and have some utopian community in mind.
