I think that counts as including LG!ngogirl12 wrote:That sounds like a good plan. I'm having trouble getting in all 3 in one day, I think two a day is more feasible and alternating them so you get 3 in within 2 days seems like a great way to go.Alexandros wrote:New plan of attack for next week - alternate heavy RC drilling with light (~half hour) LR review one day and heavy LR with light RC review one day. LG every day. I really need to work on all three sections, and there's simply not enough time to heavily drill all three in one weekday; if I try to focus on on one I end up abandoning one of the others.
I think I am going to start doing old PTs. I figure it can't hurt.
Yesterday I focused mainly on RC and during a powow with a friend I went over an earlier game with her so I diagrammed the game and wrote out each answer choice why the wrong ones were wrong and the correct one was right. I'm hoping that counts as including LG yesterday lol.

Yeah, glad you agree! I'm finding if I do try to do all a decent amount on three, I either fail or can't really spend a significant amount of time on one section, which is I'm finding is necessary for making real progress. Also hoping this will prevent me from accidentally abandoning one section all together for an extended period of time, which a recipe for disaster.

I'm interested in taking classical mythology in my last semester (Spring 2017) as an elective. I've always wanted to take it, even though I know it's tons of reading but I find it kind of interesting.Alexandros wrote: yeah, I have to admit, being ((shocker)) a huge classics geek I was kind of into itbut it reminded me a bit too much of BS classics academia /the papers I had to do all nighters sifting through once or twice last semester.

I have their first 3 cds, but I haven't listened to them since like 2011 or so. I still remember that catchy riff for "Dogs can grow beards all over"

I'd recommend getting a copy of the reading list and going to the bookstore ~ if the books are over a foot and a half tall stacked up, exercise caution

Haha that's actually a good idea. A friend of mine who goes to GTown (UG) took a mythology class and said it was the hardest B he ever worked for. But he puts most of that on the professor basically making the class teach themselves everything.Alexandros wrote:I've never taken a class that's solely on mythology proper, I'm sure it would be fascinating.TheMikey wrote:I'm interested in taking classical mythology in my last semester (Spring 2017) as an elective. Yeah that's been my problem. LR was my problem area so I dedicated the last 5-6 months to heavy LR and RC with minimal LG. That said, they are ALL equally important lol so I think dedicating significant time to all three sections is doable in a 2 day span. This is what I'm thinking:Alexandros wrote: I think that counts as including LG!![]()

Day 1: Heavy LR and Heavy RC
Day 2: Heavy LR and Heavy LG
Day 3: Heavy LG and Heavy RC
Rinse-Lather-Repeat
But I'm actually forcing myself to do RC every day 8 passages: 4 in the a.m. 4 at night before going to bed for drilling untimed until my accuracy rate is where I want it to be. At that point I'll move it into timed drilling.
I think getting LG in every day is not too hard, what takes time is watching the LG explanations. I don't watch them all, sometimes I come up with my own, but my goal is to get almost all the games in under 6-7 minutes so that includes A LOT of fool proofing.

18/20 on next 20. One that I missed was a literal like, duh what the hell is wrong with you moment...just being lazy. The other was a change from the right answer to wrong answer...just being sloppy really. Like I knew that, for the one that I changed, the answer I had *had* to be right...blegh 64/70 so far.Alexandros wrote:TRUUUEEEE34iplaw wrote:May want to avoid law school then from what I've heard...haha.Alexandros wrote:I've never taken a class that's solely on mythology proper, I'm sure it would be fascinating.TheMikey wrote:I'm interested in taking classical mythology in my last semester (Spring 2017) as an elective. I've only taken 1 art class and it was intro to art history. Hated it, but the professor LOVED me and thought I was so interested in the class, when all i was doing was the work while trying to get an A lol, which I did.Alexandros wrote:Shit D: the mythology class at my school isn't known as being too bad but some of the other classics courses are rough af.TheMikey wrote:Haha that's actually a good idea. I'm low key terrified of arts courses tbh. I've had way too many with C-ish averages on essays, because the TAs felt like it, and As next to impossible. At least with science if you work hard and know the material in and out, you're solid. I'm going to appreciate that while I still can.

YES! Awesome stuff. I really don't know why I stopped listening to them. The drums and a couple of those riffs remind me vaguely of August Burns Red. At least a little. Also cool music video

I know close to nothing about him because I don't pay any attention to what Trump does tbh. I figured if I'm not voting for Trump there's no reason to care who his VP pick is. but from what I know of him, I'm not a fan.SweetTort wrote:To derail the thread a bit, what do y'all think about Pence?

Wow! Are you retaking? LG was definitely my problem area at first (read: I couldn't do it at all) so I spent the first month of prep solely on LG, but I've only been prepping since May. Now I'm really trying to get LR and RC under control but LG can still cause plenty of problems, especially if I don't spend sufficient time on it.ngogirl12 wrote:Yeah that's been my problem.
