You're right. I guess that's it ultimately. Doing it until you could do it blindfolded.RZ5646 wrote:You need to practice more. Drill, drill, drill. I don't necessarily think there's one "right" mindset that works for everyone.jbrantley wrote:
I'm not understanding how you can miss only 2 LG questions on a diagnostic.
This is a strange request, but could someone give me some psychological advice regarding LGs. I understand the theory behind all of it, but I have never been able to get less than -7 or so per section. What is the right mental attitude to approach these problems with? I usually freeze up on the third or fourth games. Again, my problem is not with not understanding theory, but how to really approach everything taken as a whole. I know this sounds whiny, but I'm at an impasse with myself here.
Thanks.
Though for what it's worth, confidence and a YOLO mindset in LG has worked out ok for me. I go into each section knowing that two games are going to be easy as shit, and that the other two will be perfectly doable. If I don't see any deductions right off the bat on a question, I just brute force it without worrying if it'll be a wasted effort. Even if I'm unsure of exactly where a hypo sequence will end up, I do it anyways because most of the time there was something about that possibility that caught my interest.
I trust my instincts, and know that even if I miss a slick backdoor to breaking the game (i.e.: splitting the board), I don't give a shit because I trust myself to get a -0 regardless.
Someone else can probably better explain a "good" LG mindset, since I really just go by feel ...

To add to this: never get stuck on a question. If it doesn't click in the first 15 seconds, move on to the next. There will almost always be one or two questions given away by later or earlier setups or answer choices.

It sounds like you might be psyching yourself out a bit. Break up the four games, do two, take a break, do two more. Get comfortable with taking them in chunks, then put them back together and do a full section. Being nervous on LG is a performance killer.

I would suggest fapping. Not even flame, just science. There is a reason the Greeks liked orgies.
There are some people that can separate and turn off emotions and distractions happening in their personal life from their test life, but some people just can't. Breathing exercises can help. I would suggest doing a warm up before you start so that your mind gets into the groove.

Re: The Official June 2015 Study Group
Thank you guys a lot for all the advice. I'm taking all of this into account.
Confidence is definitely an issue here. I think I need to "get into it" more. Live more in the moment and such. Worrying about a bill during the middle of game definitely isn't beneficial.

I never implied that they are mutually exclusive. If I thought that, I wouldn't have asked the question.Shakawkaw wrote:How are the two mutually exclusive? You baffle me every time, OP.RZ5646 wrote:Does this mean you're not going to law school?Dirigo wrote:GOT THE JOB!!
