Decided to do un-timed RC stuff for a while to get used to 7sage's method. I figured I shouldn't go hard with the timing yet and to just try and get good at RC the same way I got decent at LR and LG.. Un-timed, understanding what I'm doing--> Timed later on
Did 1 RC passage un-timed with 7sage's memory method, thoroughly reviewed it and then watched their explanation. Went 5/7 pre-review.

This actually helped me a lot. I went through a second problem set of PMR Qs and missed 3/10.TheMikey wrote:A little tip that helped me with those (and Parallel flaw as well), is after reading the stim, start eliminating answer choices based on their conclusions. Going to go for a jog then hit RC and LG (finally). I've started underlining the modifiers (some/all, can/should, etc) and that's helping as well.tofuspeedstar wrote:This actually helped me a lot. I have to say MTR / PF questions make really nice exercises - They really require you to completely understand the structure of argument being made (and the flaw, if there is one), in both the stimuli and the answers. I'd think drilling and really mastering those question types would help improve your performance on other question types (ie flaw). I'm trying to get in the habit of understanding the logic or the flaw well enough to be able to reduce it to a sentence, drawing it out if I have to/can, before going to the answers, and then finding an answer that matches it exactly. It's making me realize that I often understand the flaw / reasoning on a very superficial level and simply rely on instinct for far too many questions.

Yeah ... I think I sort of remembered it a bit as I did it. I definitely have seen it in the past. They finally restored my account, so I can get back to LR. I had done the first 30 of the strengthen type questions, but I was a bit worried going into them given how hopeless I felt during the class. 30/30 so far, and I was far more confident in selecting answers on these than other types. I think it's sort a natural extension of weaken questions, so I think that's helping me.
Anywho, I have my battlestation set up in starbucks with the venti skinny iced caramel macchiato with extra espresso... caffeine time.

I guess you need to start evaluating yourself based on your raw score out of 100-102 rather than your LSAT score.SweetTort wrote:Just took PT 59. Here are the results.

The one game that really screws me up is the one with Anna and Bob and Dave and co with their planes. Totally didn't get that we were supposed to assume they could only fly once during a show. I'm hoping that's a relic of older PTs and we wouldn't see anything that ambiguous in the more recent ones.34iplaw wrote:Yeah ... I think I sort of remembered it a bit as I did it. Interesting. The only warm up I ever did was for June. 14(maybe 15 don't remember) LR questions and 1 logic game. How long of a warm up are you planning on doing for test day?SweetTort wrote:TheMikey wrote:Good shit bro! You never cease to amaze with your PT scores!SweetTort wrote:Just took PT 59. I know that you were talking about what to do for a gap year or two if you decided to take one or two... have you considered teaching for one of the prep companies? Now, it's entirely possible that your a curmudgeonly old man and that could preclude you, but you do seem to have a very strong command over the material. Could do that along with something else. Pay is not that bad, and I do think teaching, similar to sales, is a good way to just become more personable. Granted, you could always do both.SweetTort wrote:TheMikey wrote:Good shit bro! I second this. Sweet, you know this test forwards and backwards, teaching for a prep company could be good and their pay isn't that bad.34iplaw wrote: I know that you were talking about what to do for a gap year or two if you decided to take one or two... have you considered teaching for one of the prep companies? Forgot to add, I think you could crush every bar trivia as a result of teaching it. I think that's where the real payoff of the LSAT comes from. Just curious, are you in the online or live class? we seem to be some of the only two on TestMasters in here or atleast the only to to have mentioned it a few times34iplaw wrote:Honestly, getting really irritated with Testmasters. Re: The Official September 2016 Study Group - WELCOME JUNE WAITERS
I have some concern with 7sage in using much older exams as PTs. Should I be concerned? It recs PT 38 onwards starting next week according to my schedule as those are all the ones w/ full video explanations available.
Should I ignore that and use tests in the 50+ range?
Also, lately I've been feeling slightly discouraged with recent prep (mostly the sequencing games w/ a twist have been murking me the last day) and debating sitting in December. This is going to be my 3rd take and I want to be a 3 time LSAT champion. I've been on this grind since getting laid off back in March (I'm basically getting paid by my previous employer to study for this exam).
I think I'm the only one in here not aiming to go anywhere in the T14 (SMU is my top choice, I'm a Texas resident and plan on staying here after LS)
