Born and raised in Miami. I don't know what specific food to recommend, but if you want the finest/most legitimate Cuban food in the city you must go to Versailles or La Carreta. Besides that, just throw out some types of food you like and I can offer way more recommendations.
Well, to be fair, the steak thread in the Lounge has me wanting an enormous ribeye with an Old Fashioned. Steak house??? I'm sure Mrs. Meerkat would dig a first-night, date-night kind of a deal.
And will definitely check out La Carreta.

brooooooo I can't provide any recs as I've never been down there but you've gotta help us out with some pics at every step of the way
Done. Got a nice art-deco hotel in South Beach. I plan to study...lightly, mind you...while getting a tan on the beach. There will be mucha comida en mi boca and much fun and frivolity (in liquid form) after the exam.
This sounds heavenly. Are you doing this specifically as an LSAT relaxation technique or just for the hell of it?
Kinda. I'm in Haiti right now so Miami is the closest place you can hop on a plane and take the LSAT. Also, this country is going through some political troubles (which is why I'm here) and, yesterday, a bombshell was dropped. They are vacating last year's election results and shit's gunna get weird for the next few weeks/months. Quite frankly, I don't have the mental reserve to deal with this right now, so, I told my boss I needed to go focus instead of half-assing both UN work and LSAT.
Hence the few extra days in Miami.

Sap from aloe plants can be used as an effective emulsifier for hand lotions. A research team in 1997 conducted a study of eighteen hand lotions of various brands and varying scents that were well-received by critics, but had been failed to be profitable in their first distribution year. Consumer reports identified the chief concern among buyers of these eighteen hand lotions was that their stasis inside the bottle failed to last more than a week, at which points the lotion became too viscous to use. During the study, when aloe sap was added to the formula for each lotion, the hand lotions remained viscid for much longer than previously reported.
Which of the following, if true, most justifies the above conclusion?
A. Most hand lotions that consumer reports see viscosity complaints about do not contain any material from aloe plants.
B. Each brand produced multiple other hand lotions that contained sap from aloe plants.
C. No hand lotions contain significantly different chemical makeups that could interfere with the emulsification process of aloe.
D. Consumer’s other concerns about the eighteen hand lotions were negligible.
E. Research into the emulsification process of aloe has also shown that aloe produces a scent that consumer reports describe as “pleasant.”

I'm actually the lucky one...no joke. Zero distractions here. "Wanna go catch the new Star Wars movie??" Oh wait, no movie theaters in the whole country...guess I'll focus on the LSAT. "Wanna go grab some IPAs at this new brewpub??" No such place exists and the three burning tire roadblocks on the way to the one town with restaurants (Petionville) make it not worth it...guess I'll focus on the LSAT. "Hey, the frau wants you to go to her sister's baby shower." Oh wait...my ass is in Haiti. Can't go, guess I'm focusing on the LSAT.
So, I've been able to go full-aspie on this thing for the last few months. In many ways it's easier down here.

I mean tbh I would probably move to Haiti if it meant I never had to go to a baby shower

I think so too
I seriously love oatmeal though! I put honey, salt and dried fruit on it. Very dank. Also, idk why (maybe you can explain?) but I usually get just old fashioned rolled Quaker oats. But this time I got Bob's Redmill rolled oats. So they're both rolled oats. But the Bob's Redmill look much different when cooked! So weird. They like fluff up more and are kind of a slightly lighter color. They're organic so maybe that's it??

I just get quick cooking oats. Is that the same thing?
Now that it's summer my vibe is generally 'overnight oats' (ugh fuck you Pinterest, it's just COLD OATMEAL)
I do a chocolate base for the oatmeal - cocoa powder, unsweetened choco almond milk, bit of salt, bit of sweetener. Then I riff with my toppings. Cherries and bananas is a tasty addition. Today I did PB and bananas
I mean it's OKAY but when I hear about all of these delicious everything bagels lathered in cream cheese IT SEEMS LESS OKAY
