I did it yesterday and got killed on LG. LR1 was harder than LR2, I thought. I did not grade it yet, but I know I am already -3 on LG because I had to color D for all 3 last Qs. How much did u score?
99 and Eich, thanks for all the tips on running and Vibrams! I tried again today and realized what to do. Run very slow and take short, shallow steps. I can go much further than normal and causes me less pain too! :-) I pushed my body to the limits of human endurance today and ran 1.5 miles (6 times around a football stadium - once for each section with a 10 min break in the middle). It was good.
Next to grade PT57 and writhe in agony.

LG: -2
LR1: -3
RC: -3
LR2: -8 ( !!!!!)

Raw: 85 Scaled: 166

Which is very, very, tremendously sad.

so the test is two weeks away, and i have 7 preptests to go. i'm scheduled to take a pt today, but i'm feeling kinda run down and tired (had a bad nights sleep last night), is it smarter to just skip today? i was planning on doing a pt today, weds, sat, mon, weds, thurs, sat but i could do back to back tomorrow and wednesday instead. i'm just conflicted b/c i am worried about falling behind this late in the game, but then i'm also worried if i push myself now when i'm exhausted i might get sick or waste a pt. thanks for any input guys.

At this point it's better to take it easy. Maybe just review an old test instead? Don't feel obligated to take every PT.

yea i was thinking that i could do that. i was doing some lg drilling at work today too and my brain just wasn't working the way it normally does, like foggy almost. and i haven't really done that many pts, only about 8 thus far so i want to make sure i'm exposed to as much of the new material as possible. that being said, it would be kind of dumb of me to risk really wearing myself down and possibly risking these past 5 months of studying

I was just sitting down to start PT 57 and for some reason decided to go on TLS for a minute instead. Wishing I had resisted, officially feeling a little psyched out.

When you do PT57, use a dissociative strategy, not an associative one, otherwise you may get mentally tired.

Just took PT 53. I don't even know how to express how utterly terrible I feel. I went in more focused than usual, but for some reason I had so many questions that I didn't feel confident on. Then I forgot to write down a rule in LG and wasted nearly 10 minutes. This resulted in me having 4 questions I didn't get to. I'll be lucky to break a 160. Absolutely brutal.

PT 56

LG - -1
LR1 - -2
LR2 - -3
RC - -3

172....

Thank goodness, my past couple PTs have been very disappointing (163, 166) (I had not warmed up sufficiently enough beforehand). This time, after a great warmup, I felt so much more confidence and I'm just so happy to be back within my average

Generally the warm-up that produces the most significant scores for me involves reviewing an entire LR section for the first time and a couple LGs (both from the last PT that I've completed) ...I seem to have better results when I review more extensively before the test than when I just look back at a few questions from the past.....I think it just gives better focus

Just finished for the day.

PT 54
RC:-1
LR: -1
LG: -0
LR: -1

98, -3, 179

Pretty stoked on this score. Loved RC and LR 1, LG was unusual, LR 2 was rough.

Took a test at the actual test center at 1 under strict conditions and am happy with the result.

PT 53
LR -1
LRe (PT16.2) -0
LG -0
LR -2
RC -3

Total -6
Scaled 174

I'm quite happy with this score. I was worried about RC when I finished the test because instead of using my normal (read the passage and underline what seems important) method, I used Voyager's and it seemed to work well except it took longer. I'm not used to writing anything as I read and so it threw me off a bit. My comprehension seemed significantly better (which seems important for a Reading Comprehension section), so I'll spend the next two weeks working on the method to get better/faster.

Tomorrow's a day off from pting and I'm just gonna drill some LG and RC.

I thought the games were fine but I really hated groupthink and group cohesion. And cakewalk was no cakewalk.

DEC 07 LSAT
LR1: -4
LG: -9
LR2: -0
RC: -3

84 raw; 166 scaled

highest score yet, steady improvement continues. Need to drill advanced linear and hybrid LGs, I know I can get that section into a more manageable position by game day.

Just get those LG under control and you're golden.

*whining ahead...
PT58
LR1: -4
RC: -2
LG: 0
LR2: -2
=172

PT55 4 Experimentals put together
LR1: 0
RC: -1
LR2: -2
LG: 0
=178

WOW this PT58 was bad. I finished LR with 3-5min remaining and with such unbridled confidence that I did not even know which questions to take a second look at. I skipped nothing, circled nothing as unsure. I was so certain of -0 in both LRs and then I got kicked in the ass, and left me with the feeling that I could do nothing to prevent it. How can I correct the -6 in LR when I don't even know which questions to spend my extra time on? Seriously haven't gotten such a low LR, besides one -7, in the past 7 PTs.

In other news, putting the PT55 experimentals together to form a scaled score shows me that warm-up is crucial to my performance. I usually put the Exps in the second section, and the raw score of all those second sections added together was good.

Overall, discouraged to say the least...

I actually liked groupthink, but I did get my one RC miss on cakewalk.

Thanks for the encouragement.

After all that worrying about the dinos I have been hearing about forever, LG was my best section [-0]. It did take me the entire 35 minutes to finish the section, which is getting rarer.

RC was about standard for me (thought I got killed on the fractals, but that passage was fine), LR marginally worse than normal (maddeningly, I changed a CR to a wrong answer just as time was about to run out).

PT 55 (Oct. 2008)
LR1: -2
RC: -3
LR: -3
LG: 0
RCexp: -1
= 171 (raw 92)

Strictly timed, with people loudly talking in the background to simulate less-than-ideal test conditions.

171 is the exact same score I've been getting for my last 4 or 5 PTs (with the exception of a single 172). I've definitely hit a plateau here with -5 or -6 in LR overall, and -3ish in RC. Any tips on how to get over it? I'd ideally want to walk into the real LSAT in 2 weeks with at least a 175 average so I have a bit of wiggle room to hit 170+ even if I'm nervous and stressed.

I just redid PT33 RC.

Got -2 in April. Got -3 five minutes ago.

Two of them resulted from misreading (e.g. read "incorrect" as "correct"). Ugh.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
