I guess I just didn't get the third one at all and I had only 6-7 minutes to to the last comparative reading one. I'm seriously freaked out because I usually go from -2 to -5 in RC. Goddamn it. Hope it's just an outlier and not the beginning of an RC collapse otherwise I'll have to postpone.

Just as I was getting cocky and pumped up after my hot streak, telling myself I'm ready....
That RC was absolutely brutal and was my lowest since my diagnostic.

Hello everyone, long-time lurker finally checking in

First of all, I wanted to thank everyone here for the discussion. Even tho I haven't posted direct questions, I can't say that reading this thread hasn't helped me since I started studying!

That being said, I'm currently PT'ing in the mid-to-high 160s, with LR being my weakest section (I'll take the time to grade a few of my latests PTs through 7sage, but averaging -10 LR right now). Timing is my main problem, and I can only hit the high 160s if I skip the P/PF questions and invest more time on the rest of the section. I honestly think it's because english isn't my first language, so I wanted to see if anyone here went through something similar or if anyone had a strategy that they found to be helpful?

Good to know others found it difficult. That -9 chewed a giant hole in my PT average. Went down almost a full point.

Finally back in the 170s! After like, 2 weeks of floundering in the mid 160s :|

PT 68
RC -4
LR1 -0
LR2 -2
LG -3 :?

I've been drilling and crushing grouping games but I got slammed with the
[+] Spoiler
tiered ordering game at the end
and missed a couple there. Got through the first 2 games in 9 mins and still almost ran out of time. Looks like I have a new game type to study.

So happy with my LR, I had some kind of a boogeyman on my back with LR.

Just finished BR for PT 71.

BR Results (Original results) LR -2 (-4) LG -2 (-6) RC -1 (-5) Raw: -5 (-14) Scaled: 177 (169).

Really frustrated with my misses in RC, they were super easy on a second, slightly more detailed look. Ditto for half my LR misses, but the others I still got wrong and couldn't understand why until referring to the Manhattan forums. LG I missed a big inference on one of the games the first go around and timing was off because of this. However I still missed one rule substitution question and a Must be True question, which shouldn't be happening when given unlimited time, especially because I ended up getting one of my original misses right but then missed a question on BR that I initially got correct. Compared to the rest of you guys I suck HARD at games.

Funny side note: The 7sage rating for the LR section that I went -0 in was rated 4 stars. The one where I went -4 was only rated 2 stars....

Results from PT 64:
Raw: 94
Scaled: 175
LR1: -4 ( ) thought I crushed this section
LG: -0
LR2: -1 ( ) thought I bombed this section
RC: -2

Hallelujah back to -2 RC.

Also interestingly, it's only SA/PSA/Strengthen that give me any semblance of trouble in LR. I got crushed by 3 of them in LR1. At least I know what to drill.

Are you also having trouble with RC? If not, I doubt it is language issues. What is your target score? You may want to postpone until September and work on LR.

I wouldn't worry too much about the LSAT, Jimmy. U of American Samoa just announced that it's accepting the GRE.

Just applied to be a Kaplan LSAT Tutor, it says they accept either an official score report OR a Kaplan administered PT (which they provide) at the 90th percentile or higher. I'd hope for the sake of their students that they wouldn't hire someone like me who hasn't even officially sat for the test yet, but I'll update here if I hear anything back from them.

There's still some room to improve in RC. Last 5 PTs were: -3 (PT68, Score 168); -3 (PT69, Score 165); -8 (PT72, Score 161); -6 (PT71, Score 167); -3 (PT79, Score 169). I'll be taking PT78 either tomorrow or on Friday.

I'm aiming for 170.

Personally, I would hold off until September (I am probably in the minority on this). If your 5-PT average doesn't include your target score with less than a month out, the extra time to prep seems warranted to me. That said, how are you reviewing your tests?

Yeah, I disagree, if you are close to your score then take June. It's too late to get your money back or reschedule the test date, so I wouldn't waste the money since it won't really affect you all that negatively if you under-perform June and have to retake September.

Yea this is what I've been thinking. I know a month won't make miracles but feel that I'm relatively close enough, especially when a big proportion of my mistakes are happening in LR. If this one doesn't go well I guess I'll have to retake in September.

Hit it hard for the next 27 days or whatever we have. You have a couple scores right near 170, so that's literally like 2 questions on a good day.

I totally forgot that the reschedule deadline past. With that in mind, my post makes no sense. Disregard it.

Sorry, forgot to note: I'm using the Blueprint course and a little 7sage. Initially signed up with Manhattan for an earlier test but moved to DC so I ended up switching companies :?

Edit: Also checking every question after PTs to see what went wrong (and right). Will focus on the LR questions with my lowest accuracy this weekend.

Drilling is generally advocated here, but personally I only really used review to improve my LR scores. Once you're getting ~80% or so of the LR questions right, you need to see how the questions stop you from being able to apply concepts you understand. Make sure that you are using Manhattan forums for any question you don't understand completely. Also, if you have people around that will listen, talk about the questions you miss.

I used blueprint. They're helpful for LR and games. Their methods are good for getting someone up into the 165 range. I do think you need to add more drilling, bc for LR there are a lot of questions which don't really fit into their prescribed methods for each Q type.

I completely abandoned everything RC related with them. It sounds like you just need to get more consistent there tho.

Okay, so yeah. Something's definitely wrong with me. The harder the game or the passage, the better I do. When a LG section is all "Easy" to "Mild", I flounder. Ditto RC. I actually skipped the third game in this section to go to the 4th because I thought it was easier and then missed questions in the 3rd one. I want you all to succeed, but for my sake, I hope all of our passages and games are skull-crushingly difficult because apparently normal games break my brain. bla;dsflkjasldkjf;alkjdsf whyyyyyyy
