The Klinnsman era has been pretty underwhelming.

At times, yes. But they got out of the group of death in the World Cup last year. Going in, no one thought they'd get out of that group. He does make some head scratching moves often, though.TheProdigal wrote:The Klinnsman era has been pretty underwhelming.

While I don't disagree, "We didn't get eliminated as early as everyone expected!" is a pretty tough sell. The Abyss wrote:At times, yes. Yeah, but it's the US. Expectations have to been reigned in a bit. Just imagine if our best athletes were playing soccer like in the rest of these countries. The US would dominate. So long as we rely on college grads, we'll never get there. Going up against players developed by professional teams since the age of five is going to be a losing proposition.
Need to start practicing with my kid - he's left footed, and we sure could use a real striker down the road.

All our best athletes play basketball and football. Soccer is becoming more and more popular, but where in the urban areas there's a soccer field in other countries, there is a basketball court here. The United States has by far the best athletes in the world, they just don't play soccer.TheProdigal wrote:So long as we rely on college grads, we'll never get there. Well the poll is for favorite, not best. Which would explain the Obama results some, and JFK.theugg wrote:Also JFK was an objectively average President
I like JFK because he's an Irish Catholic and because of his support of the space program.
