Just curious - what stage is everyone at in studying?

Anyone have a good PT schedule to follow?

Took a few days off to finish finals. 8 more weeks. It doesn't seem like enough time, but who knows

I feel your pain. I'm in the final two weeks of course work for the semester mixed with the end of year rush for work (holiday concerts, etc). I'm backloading my next semester/session, so once my current classes end, I won't have class again until January 30th. I'm glad that I am planning this far out though, and I have a feeling I will be taking the LSAT at least twice.

Yeah I won't have class until like the 20th. First week is syllabus week so I might just email my professors and tell them that I won't really be in class until after the 4th since most of my classes have professors I have already had in the past

I did a proctored exam Saturday morning, and did a full test untimed Friday evening. I was able to redo and fully review my errors for those two, so planning on doing another full test today.

We should make a separate post pretending to be posting an exact question from the December test and instead ask for you to be made OP... that'll get their attention

Hi poasters, I'm just checking in, fresh off the December test. I'm applying this cycle but unless the stars all align and I get high 170s, I'll be retaking to strengthen my chances/negotiating position.

Not sure if y'all have checked the December thread, but it seems like having at least one weird logic game is the new normal for LSAT. Get ready kiddos!

Pretty positive I went -0 on games. Fairly sure I masivrly improved on RC. -0/-1 is possible there I think unless I fell for a trap. That's what I was averaging leading up to it. I found one LR easy and the other challenging, so it comes down to the one LR and the curve. I'd be pretty shocked if I didn't have a big improvement from Sept. Eight section PTs are the way to go.

On a related note, do not search for any info on Decembers games if you want to take them fresh. A little info could really spoil them I think. Kind of like maybe dinosaurs really spoiled that game IMO.

That's awesome! I hope you got the score you were looking for. I don't know how you took that thing in the city with the ambulances and horns and whatnot. I believe it was you that told me to look at the first try as a practice though and that really helped, so thanks.

Yeah I'm avoiding the December thread from now on for that reason. I'll buy 72-80 and take those closer to February. I think those are some of the only fresh tests I'll have unfortunately. Just started on the 7sage program and that should boost my score quite a bit. I'm just glad I finished all the questions, given some of my issues with timing, though admittedly I guessed on the last LG question.

Do you all have any interest in taking certain PTs and reviewing together?

Any NYers care to share where they've registered? I live in Queens so I'm deciding between the schools here, with the main priority being desk chairs vs. tables.

I don't think 34 will be retaking the test again.
I'm most likely taking in June, so if you're taking in Feb. and plan on doing most PTs right now, then I don't think we can. If you're interested, 7sage's BR group just started for June and I'm joining them as well as another TLSer that I know. They just started this past Saturday, and will be meeting again this Saturday. I didn't join the first meeting, and most likely won't be joining them this Saturday either bc of stuff that has come up but I plan to for the 3rd session and every other one after that!

How long do you TSLers think it takes to complete the 7sage course? I'm undecided about purchasing with t minus 8 weeks to go.

More generally, I also can't decide whether to take Feb or June 2017 as my first test (first time poster here). I've read both Powerscore LG and LR bibles, drilled several individual sections along the way, and taken one full PT as a quasi diagnostic (I had already started studying for a few weeks) with a score of 159.

I work full time, and my goal is 171-173 if possible, so I may take a full PT in the next few days to see where I'm at before the registration deadline for Feb hits. I'd defer to June if I weren't going to be looking for a new job in the spring, which would invariably cripple my studying efforts starting a new job and all.

Any advice?

Why just friends???   haha thanks for the vote of confidence... due to my side project, I'll be here for a bit longer anyways and probably a few study groups. I spoke with Manhattan Prep about it which was pretty cools.

Thanks! Me too! haha. TBH, it was dead quiet in there. I can't speak for every room there, but I think it's because mine shared a wall with a hall - nothing outdoors... it also wasn't a really noisy part of the city. It was quieter than when I took it at Hofstra.

(C?)SUNY Law in Queens was an amazing center. I'm not certain whether every room was as good, but it was a great center based on my experience. I would wholeheartedly recommend it.

edit: Is it SUNY or CUNY? I dunno.

Signed up for February (3rd take since June) but might push it back to June 2017...just took an LR section for the first time in months and it was like I didn't spend all that time studying earlier this year.

Also @34iplaw, CUNY Law is in LIC Queens so probably that.

Looks like weird (harder?) LG is a trend now based on the last two tests. I'm starting to get nervous about LG... trying to find hard games for practice...

Not harder. Weirder is all IMO. It's all about getting to them with enough time and getting over the initial shock.

I'd maybe work on trying to do games just differently. I'm not certain it would help, but perhaps try a few games relying on rule driving rather than scenarios.

Wrt 7sage, I just started on Tuesday and I'm almost finished with the first week's curriculum. I plan on trying to finish by early January and then spending that month on PTs and drilling. I'd go ahead and get it either way. There's some very good information on building basic skills that I haven't found anywhere else.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
