Applying with the December LSAT isn't as bad as it's been historically. Ppl were still getting $$$ of waitlists in April May last year (not the norm but just saying its not throwing out of contention). At some point the market will correct (we've already seen that the medians didn't take as big of a hit this year as the 2 years before) and apps will start to go back up as ppl see medians changing etc. Who knows if it will be this cycle or next or the one after, but applying to an earlier cycle is better if the score is completive.
I'll go back to the sept thread now![]()
Mist: I don't think January is considered late anymore. There is way less pressure to get things out by Thanksgiving. I've heard different blogs throw around getting everything in by MLK Jr. Day. Sure, the earlier the better is best. But the "apply by" date has definitely slid into the New Year based on what I've read.
I plan on applying the first full week of January.
Applicant and Application Volume Graph by Month:
http://www.lsac.org/lsacresources/data/ ... ear-volumeI also haven't read anything about the LSAT since last Jan/Feb, so i guess my knowledge isn't exactly up to date.

Did six games at work today. All I can say is it feels good to tear up the slopes again.

When I see a game, I imagine i'm skiing.There's snow already somewhere?
I vaguely remember a game with ski lodges. Or maybe my haunted mind is creating false memories of LG games.

Love it when the games sections come. Guys, as daunting as they look, they eventually get fun. 7sage.7sage.7sage.7fuckingsage.
Its like sudoku with words. I used to be shittay at games. My diag was like below 150. But my 2nd PT (bout 15 days later) was 159. I gained OVER NINE fucking points just by drilling and drilling and 7saging games every one of those days. I got perfect in 15 days. You guys could be perfect in the games by the end of the first week in october. Then, they become fun.
Trust me. If you're not getting 0's on the games routinely, you arent LSATing right. I haven't missed a problem in LG in literally months. (this would constitute a humble brag if I didn't subtly hint at how bad I am at RC) Please. If you're struggling with games, there is still plenty of time. Please, for your own sake, devote the next two weeks to them. It will pay huge dividends.

+1 on this! Games can be learned and 7sage is a great asset in helping you get there. Definitely take advantage of 7sage!ilikebaseball wrote:Love it when the games sections come. Guys, as daunting as they look, they eventually get fun. 7sage.7sage.7sage.7fuckingsage.

I didn't know you were taking the December one. I was under the assumption you plan on sitting for September.Dirigo wrote:I totally misread that and the metaphor went right over my head. Reading Comp fail.RobertGolddust wrote:When I see a game, I imagine i'm skiing. There's snow already somewhere?

If sitting out would be more beneficial and I have to move somewhere warmer for 1.5 years and get involved in a nonprofit I've always wanted to work for, then I suppose it wouldn't be the worst thing.

It's ok - that's what I figured. All the more reason to master the games and dominate this test.Dirigo wrote:Nlee is right. Everything before you get your bachelor's degree is part of your GPA. People are often shocked when that course they failed in high school that they took for community college credit comes back to bite them.nlee10 wrote:By default, they will include all grades earned until your bachelors degree was awarded. So unfortunately grades from your 20's will be included. You can submit an addendum to LSAC to forgive the bad gpa, but you better have a really compelling reason. I don't know anything about the success rate of gpa addendums so good luck with that.peetesLA wrote:
Do you know how law schools consider GPA? I'm going to have two full years at the school I'm graduating from with a GPA of 3.96, but the previous two years of credits are spread over about 8 years of time at 6 different schools when I was in my 20s, floundering and doing drugs, etc. The GPA from that era is probably closer to 3.0 or even lower. What will they consider my GPA to be under those circumstances?
A GPA around 3.5 (estimating) isn't awful, but it does suck given your success in the last two years of school. That's just the way LSAC works unfortunately.
I would be cautious about submitting an addendum detailing drug use, etc. Addendums are generally only given any weight when they talk about circumstances outside one's control. A sudden death in the family, battling cancer, etc. There are some cases where addendums can actually hurt your chances if not properly done. I am no expert though, so I would ask your question here.
You're definitely stuck with a sub 3.96 LSAC GPA though. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
