Re: June 2014 Retakers
How many PT's have you guys taken already?
I'm going by Noodley's Retake guide and now that I'm about finished with LG, I'm supposed to take another PT to check where I stand. Seems kind of pointless to do one though when all I've worked on for the last month has been LG.
Thoughts?
ETA: I've taken one so far, just the diagnostic PT

I've done 3, but I agree. If you have only done LG, it seems like a waste.FlyingNorth wrote:How many PT's have you guys taken already?

Oh yyeah, some fantastic methods. I had the trainer for only a month or so before Oct. Mom hoping having it longer this time will help.FlyingNorth wrote:I love Mike's method of attacking flaw questions. Life-changingjk148706 wrote:Starting off with flaw review in the trainer today

Better to be rusty than having to learn all of this again. I couldn't imagine tackling LSAT material for the first time...jk148706 wrote:Oh yyeah, some fantastic methods. I saw this on a coursera course and thought of the LSAT....
I thought this might be motivational for you guys...

Another solid few hours with the trainer and drilling. I think it's slowly but surely coming back to me.

Re: June 2014 Retakers
im a retaker.
Can someone help me to understand my performance? recently I've been scoring around 167. The tests i used are the newer ones (52-61). I used these tests several months before. Last weekend I did a completely new test (68) and scored 173. And today I did 59 (used), I scored 161.
I really don't understand.

Familiarity with those tests could play into your score differential.charlesriver wrote:im a retaker.

Have you been blind reviewing (or reviewing at all)? It's better to identify what questions you're getting wrong, instead of scoring a PT for the personal satisfaction. See if there are any consistencies in what you're having trouble with and drill those particular parts of the tests (i.e grouping games, flaw questions, or comparative passages). That's basically the retake study method.

It could be that particular test played more to your strengths than the others. There are a million factors. If your avg without including either of those tests is a 167, assume they are both outliers.charlesriver wrote:im a retaker.

Re: June 2014 Retakers
Whats up! Joining the the thread. Scored a 155 December 2013. Just gave my two week notice at work and I am ready to get to work!
My plan is to hire a private tutor(10 hours total) and use 7sages and cambridge games package. Any advice on how to prep for the following three months?

I took a PT as my benchmark diagnostic for these next few months. Other than that, I've been drilling.jk148706 wrote:Are ya'll taking PTs at this point or just drilling/going through prep books

Check your breakdown from Dec. 13 to see where you need the most improvement and focus on that first. Use prepbooks to improve your understanding (Trainer, Manhattan Guides, PowerScore) and drill those weaknesses.Erickt26 wrote:Whats up! Joining the the thread. Scored a 155 December 2013. Re: June 2014 Retakers
Just checking to see if anybody is starting a PT schedule yet? I looked through the thread and couldn't find a common schedule for Retakers, are you guys looking to follow something similar to the main June thread schedule? If so, are you going to review with them or independent of them?
I've been working through the Trainer and drilling LR and LG. Thinking about hopping back on the PT train pretty soon and just wanted to see what other retakers are planning on doing for schedule and reviews.
