I am wondering about this as well. I know you can let schools know that you have another score coming, but is applying and sending in another score later basically the same as applying when said score comes out? I assume that, if they know another score is coming, they'd just wait to go through your file till it comes in anyway. Thoughts?
I am currently in the process of trying to figure this out. But some posts here on TLS as well as a post by
Ann Levine on her blog seem to suggest that your pending score will delay a decision on your app.
Then it seems like we should submit them in January.
snagglepuss: On that Ann Levine blog post, she says sometimes schools review the first score by mistake and then you don't even get a decision for your new score. Could be a minor risk, but is it worth taking?

My apps are done, so there is still a strong temptation to just send them out.

yeah a risk always exists, but I think it's minimal (sorry Ann Levine) and I believe Spivey et alli said send 'em. I'm thinking about calling/emailing admissions offices to ensure they wait on my app and mitigate that risk. I don't want to end up sending apps mid-January like the slacker half of me is wont to doing.

I'm planning on using the three week waiting period to get the apps polished and completed so that the second I have my score, I can add it and send them out. The October waiting period was bad because I didn't feel like doing anything until I got my score, but December should be fine since there's no possibility of a retake by then. And even with massive procrastination, I got most of my apps done during October anyway (just need a couple Why X essays and a few more edits on my PS).

For most of the schools worth getting into, yes

I'd wait until June if you really can't get ready by December and send your apps the moment they go live. Feb is a bad time for apps, it's non-disclosed, etc.

I filled in 95% of my apps in under an hour and wrote a PS draft one night (I'm letting it cook a bit; then, I'll edit and send it around to some lawyers/profs). My last LOR is held up by my PS, though (my prof/mentor wants a final version so we're telling the same story). I'm probably going to dedicate an hour every other night to PS/apps until they're done. Helps that I cut my work from 40+ hours down to 30 today.
You have your LORs under way?
ETA: As for Why Xs; I'm planning on getting my LSAT score high enough that I send them when I get yield-protect-waitlisted. And no DS for this guy.

both of my LORs are in, and i've filled out most of the general app information like demographics, plus my resume is done. i might try to finalize my ps before dec 7th, but i've got a draft done already so i'm not mega worried about that. it's more than i'm just feeling really... well... lazy lol. i just want to procrastinate my apps until after dec test.
that's probably a sign i should attempt to be proactive and do them asap
eta: yeah, i've got the same plan for my why x's. and lol at me writing a DS.
That's a nice start, I mean we're basically at the same point. Give yourself a little more credit.

still on the fence as well, dosto. it all rides on how i feel leading up to the dec test. i'm 175+ 180 or bust this time around. if i don't feel like i can hit that before dec, i won't take and will sit out another cycle. i'll prob have a similar app schedule as you will providing we both apply this cycle, since my LORs/transcript/resume is done and all i have left to worry about is my retake and my final PS/why x's.
ftfy, just sayin.

Not gonna panic, but I just got -6 on PT49 LG. I feel completely rusty and slow-moving. Gonna get it back. I finished the section on time but, again, completely rusty and slow. This is a section I've scored -0 on before.
I flat out forgot to answer one q and I misread a rule which directly cost me 3 points on the last game. LOL.

-0 on PT44 LG. Disclaimer: I've seen essentially all the material in the past. Still, this felt sharp. Rust shouldn't be too bad.
