Not that those are similar in the sense that they have similar set-ups per se. But each of those was part of the same family of "oh damn what is this I have no idea set my hair on fire" games designed to shock you until you feel them out w/o relying on specific set-ups from Powerscore, etc.

I think what sets this one apart from those is that, in my opinion, game 3 this time around was harder than any of the normal games in each of those tests.
I aggree 99%, Lsac is compensating for an abundance of prep material. With enough time and effort most people can go -0 on the games. The only point disagreement is on 77 game #3. Although it was a very odd game, I don't think it was on a the same tier of difficulty of 72 game 4, 79 game 4, or 80 game 4.

77 game 3 had few rules that were straightforward, and gave you the diagram in the set up. Furthermore, the way the game worked was fairly intuitive. Where as a weaker test taker could spend an extra couple of minutes and brute force their way through, I don't think the same could be said about the other games.

Four reminded me of two old games from 11 and 12.

My mind definitely went to 12-2-4 until I realized that I couldn't map out all the worlds.

Yeah the flask game, that is totally why it felt somewhat familiar.

I feel like a lot of people are freaking out about the new games but, none of them are really that hard by themselves. If people struggled with game 4 on this test definitely go back to the old stuff and look at those games. Some of those old pattern games are way harder than the stuff that's on the test today. Plus doing a bunch of misc games will train you on how to make boards with unique setups

Man I'm pretty bummed over this test. I submitted apps after receiving my Sept score, but every school has my as incomplete "future LSAT score". Sigh.

I'm pretty LSAC has us figured out. They realized 7sage broke LG, and in being that antagonist provided LSAC with the perfect opportunity to destroy people who only use JY's videos. If for instance, those same people spent a month learning LG setup and making inferences, instead of burning through packets and LG after LG, maybe these games wouldn't be as heart-breaking. That being say, LSAC is now saying "look - we can't reinvent LG, but we can diverge from trends in our sets, so this will make you buy allllllll of our PT's . hahaha". So a candidate has to now but all these f'ing PT's and sets. Essentially, the random games are a business maneuver, it has nothing to do with selecting good 1L candidates.

Yeah they threw some crazy shit at the test takers in the 90s.

So I'm sure this has come up before but what is the earliest we can hear the news? Surely these wonderful folks at the lsac would like to get publishing the results out of the way before the holidays. Why wait and have all that to do after you get back to work in the new year.

After the agony that was September, I will not get my hopes up. There was so much speculation and expectation of getting scores the week prior and it just made the anticipation all the more worse. There have apparently been instances where scores come out 5-7 days earlier, but yeah, I'm not banking on it.

My guess is January 1st give or take maybe 2 days. We definitely won't get them before the 25th.

Put this up last go round to show release dates for the past 10 or so years:

In all likelihood, it won't be more than 3 days early. With the holidays and such, I'd bet no earlier than Monday Jan 2. Here's to hoping I'm wrong.

Did all the non experimental lsat questions at one point appear on an experimental section?

Instrumental wrote:So guys after sleeping on it, how do you think you did? I'm feeling a lot better about this test than September. The only section that was sketchy for me was LG and even then it was just the last six questions (last question of Game 3 took a sec). I may be over estimating my ability, but I could see my score being anywhere from -4 to -12.
My worst was definitely LG too. At best probably went -2/-3, at worst maybe -5/-6. First LR section was a bit shaky too, so expecting -3/-4 on that too. Thankfully the RC and second LR sections were super easy for me, really hoping to go -0/-1 on them both to make up for LG.

Yes. December 16's RC, for example, came from the February 2012 experimental.

I'm in IT and all of the certs I have taken were computerized, but the testing centers are built for that very purpose. Now the wait begins :) It was really interesting to hear everyone writing for the essay section...haven't head the sound of so many pencils in a long time.

I got the impression that that had to do with their website. Lsac.org isn't responsive.

Now that you mention it I guess it could easily be that they are moving to a digital format, but with screenshots and all I don't think they would ever let us take it the way the GMAT is administered.

Gah. Just redid the setup for game 3 from memory using the inference I figured out waiting for time to be called on the subsequent section. That game should not have been as hard as I made it yesterday. SO pissed.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
