I'd like to get some practice drilling LG sections with hard/weird LGs. How do you go about drilling them? Do you have a source?archer grandpapy360 wrote:Drilled today
LR 1 and 2: -1 (missed the one question I straight up spend all my extra 7 minutes on, wtf)
LG I lost count: -1 total
RC one section: -2
Overall I'm glad I put off hardcore LG drilling until now. I feel like LR takes a while to master, and RC even longer. I've only been drilling LG since this past weekend and I've dramatically improved from being able to go -1 to -4 to consistently -0 to -1 with typically 13-14 minutes for the last game. I think this will be a big boost if June follows the trend of one hard misc game for game 4.

Has all the games from tests 1-20 including all the really hard ones. The "weird games" are categorized as "Forgotten Few" and "Advanced Techniques". A bit much for this late in the game, but was definitely a good source. In general, there are some weird games from those first 20 tests, so if you can get your hands on them in another format, I'd highly recommend it.

Re: The Official June 2017 Study Group
Reviewed my PT 63 today. Found out some interesting information:
Of my LR misses, one was missed because I rephrased and picked the trap answer. I didn't even read the correct AC before choosing. That's only happened once, but I know to be wary of it now.
Two I legitimately thought two separate answers were correct both during the test, and even in review. And then I noticed it. I was reading 'only if' in one of the answer choices for each question as 'if'. It made both ACs (the correct AC, and the one I chose) mean the exact same thing. Definitely will be hunting for 'only if' on future questions where I get stuck thinking two ACs are both correct.
Also found that as far as problems I struggle with consistently, PrincipleAssumption and PrincipleStrengthen are the only ones I consistently miss (missed two back to back on Q22 and Q23 of LR2 PT 63). Will be drilling every Principle question I have as well as a bit of strengthen and SA.
Other than that, I just need to get more accurate on RC. I know at this point I should be able to identify exactly in the text why an answer is correct for the vast majority of questions, but I still don't always check myself. Need to get a bit quicker on that, and more consistent on answer checking. Can't rely always on memory.
Overall I think the review was immensely helpful, but we'll see based on tomorrows PT 64

Re: The Official June 2017 Study Group
Did PT 79 last night. I was on edge in LG due to all the things I've heard about the virus game. I had a difficult time getting through the 3rd game (i forgot a rule) so I used 30 minutes just to get through the first 3 games. Then I got to the virus game and it seemed pretty intuitive. Having knowledge of what's to come definitely hurts my nerves. I think not knowing if/when a "hard" game is coming will be helpful come test day.
Anyway, here's the breakdown:
Raw score: 91, converted score 171
LR1: -4
RC: -4 (had 5 minutes left when I started the final passage. Did a speed read and only missed 2!)
LG: -0
LR2: -2 (missed the last 2)
First time I broke 170, feeling better and better with each test.

Isn't this the test with that horrid RC passage too? Props to you for going -0 on games on that test!saf18hornet wrote:Did PT 79 last night. Tomorrow morning I have an interview at my work for a new job within the department. I really want to be studying for the LSAT instead of prepping for it today. Ugh, I hate interviews.

Yes, I think maybe the 2nd RC passage about Eileen Gray, that ate up like 13 minutes. which is why i barely reached the 4th passageWalliums wrote:Isn't this the test with that horrid RC passage too? Does anyone have experience tutoring for Kaplan? I know they're garbage but I realized you only need 90th percentile either on a real administration or their practice test. Teaching the basics to Sub 150 scorers could be a pretty easy gig that's gotta pay more than my IT job.

Re: The Official June 2017 Study Group
PT 68 last night.
172
RC: -1 (I don't know how this is a thing that's started happening, but I hope it never stops.)
LR 1: -5 (UGHHHHH.)
LR 2: -2
LG: -2
After two months of perfect LG's, I've started consistently missing two and it's driving me insane. Anybody else taking two (point) steps back and freaking out? Bueller? Bueller?
I did a blind review after and got the two right, too. So I actually have no idea how or why I missed them.

Definitely gonna give this a shot, all you need is 90th percentile, and although its just a couple times a week, the pay is pretty solid. How bad can it be? All you do is tell them to go on TLS and that's it! lolAmerision wrote:If you get any info, let me know. I was considering doing this after I got my score as well. Y'ALL.
If you score in the 99th percentile, you can teach at Manhattan Prep. They pay 100-116/hr.

164 is 89.9% according to 7sage. Which seriously makes me question the quality of instruction someone who scored a 164 can give but whatever, if they say that's good enough then it's good enough.heyduchess wrote:Count me in.
