A chain of different groups of people have been carrying on the same argument about whether it's pompous to make fun of people who haven't prepared for the LSAT for like six years. It's actually kind of amazing when you think about it. A torch whose eternal flame of neuroses is passed from one generation to the next.
It is really interesting to see the same tropes played out over and over again every 4 months.

There are no new opinions. Only new stories.

I didn't really overhear anything amusing at my LSAT today. The place might as well have been a funeral. Really nice facility at UW-LaCrosse, though, if you're looking for a modern test center.

The woman next to me opened her test book and the first section was LG. She didn't make a single diagram, just kind of quietly paged through everything. Looked completely listless until break. Came back and she was gone.
Some guy standing in line couldn't figure out if he should go to the room for his last name (as posted in several places) or stick it out in our line because it was what was on his ticket. He was thinking too hard about it.

Couple of guys mentioned they were getting destroyed by it, clearly had no idea what was on it.

Proctors were chill. The new photo/ticket thing was a non-issue.

Sorry, nothing really awesome happened.

So you bothered to look over to see what her first section was?

Didn't really overhear anything either, per se, but the guy sitting next to me pulled out his iPhone multiple times during the test. The guy had balls, he even had it out (to his side, under the table but you could definitely see it), with a proctor sitting right there. I'm not even sure how he didn't get caught.

Oh, I thought all the tests were the same. I figured the S/N was in case I stole it.

There were 16 of us in a room built to instruct about 40. I couldn't have seen her book if I wanted to.

And I don't think anyone there was smarter than me, for that matter.

Not sure if self-defeatingly honest, or obliviously self-unaware.

It's Western, WI. Meh.

I still didn't study hard enough and paid the price. I'd put myself in the top 80% of testers at my location but I highly doubt I was the highest. There was a guy a few rows ahead that I wouldn't be surprised was a TLS'er. He was the only other one not scribbling away furiously on the writing portion.

There's no value in me knowing whether all the tests are identical. Even if I wanted to cheat I wouldn't copy off someone else. Call me untrustworthy, then. I just think my answers are equal to or better than any given person I've never met. *shrug*

I'm not bickering. No worries. ;)

How long will it take for the evacuated test center to become a funny story? Months? Years?

Two people got caught up at break talking about how easy it was and how they were acing it so far... So caught up that they lost track of time and showed up 6 min late to section 4.

Conversation from outside the testing center last year:

Me: Are you nervous?
Random guy in line: Nah not really.
Me: Oh yeah I'm a little nervous but I did a lot of practice tests so hopefully that helps.
Random guy: Oh yeah I didn't do any of those, I figured I'd just see how it goes.
Me: Well good luck.

In my head: "Thank you gods for sending this man here today to sacrifice himself for the greater good of the curve."

Girl sitting next to me probably put her whole medicine cabinet in her 1 gallon ziplock bag.

Oh, our proctor said to turn our phones off if we had them. This despite having a sign at the door saying no electronics beyond this point. Kind of annoyed because I left my phone in my car several blocks away.

I've heard of people (on here) getting bounced just for standing in line with a phone. Wish it was a little more uniform.

I had a very small group for admin. Only 2 of us had passable pictures for the test (1 was me of course) but they let ~3 of the others take with flagrantly incorrect pics. The mode goal score of the group was a 145 with one implying she would cry tears of joy for a 145 after studying for a couple of years! I know the test is equated but sometimes I wish it was curved just because of conversations like this. Oh and one person decided to take it cold. The person literally had no clue what to expect on the test and figured if it involved reading it must be easy. Lol!

Unfortunately I was too zoned in to remember what people were saying around me; I was too busy trying to zone them out. I think there were a few gems though.

Pretty sure one person didn't know there was a writing sample or didn't know what it was.

"When questions ask what the author's attitude is I'm like 'I don't know?!'" [this was before the test, mods please be kind]

"I pretty much guessed on every question."

The guy next to me was so focused when we moved on to section 2 he kept bubbling section 1. About 10 minutes in (when he got to the bottom, hell, I dunno?) he called the proctor over frantically trying to figure out what to do. Proctor didn't know.

They didn't throw him out even though he narc'd on himself. I assume they just let him transcribe and erase.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
