cool. i've done all lr from pt 56-69 (except 68) and 32-33, if anyone has questions about any q from these. i've come across a couple of qs in these pts that are a bit not foolproof for which i posted on the mlsat web page.Mint-Berry_Crunch wrote:
Thanks for that. I think I was misinterpreting unlikely as "low".
Retook PT B to see if I would make the same mistakes again.... Aaaaaaaaaaaand I did. Nothing is clicking right now for me. Super disappointing, I thought I was in the clear finally. I might take tomorrow off.
I'm also trying to transition to waking up at 5 every day, which is fun.

I'm only missing 3-4 in LR. Everytime at least one of those is a pattern of reasoning question. Anyone have a good method for these? Powerscore method isn't clicking with me for some reason

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
Just finished drilling L3/L4 flaw questions. Of 100 questions I missed 13. L3: -3, l4: -10. I feel like I shouldn't be missing any of those at this point. Not sure what to think :/
Going to wait until tomorrow, print out fresh copies of the ones I missed, redo them, and look at Manhattan forums for explanations.

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
I REALLY need to figure something out for RC over the next couple weeks. I think I'm getting frustrated, and that's making me do worse. Plus, I'm trying to fit sections into my schedule whenever I can and that sometimes involves getting interrupted, sometimes a couple times in just one section.
I had made good strides on it. Back when I started, I was at like -15. There for a while I had dropped down to -6 and -7, which isn't great, but it was better than what I was getting. I also started to get some -4s a couple times. The past two sections I have taken have been -10!!!! And this especially sucks because my games are generally very very good and my LR is sitting at around a -3 with several -2s and -0.
I need to do a better job at evaluating what it is that I'm doing wrong. For a while I was taking my time on the passage and then going into questions. Varied results with that. Then I started to read a little faster to see how that worked and generally it was pretty good with me getting to pretty much all questions and missing 5ish or so. I feel like maybe the last two sections I have done I just have been discouraged/lacking confidence and that has affected my performance. I think I need to make a cognizant approach of the things I used to put to use when drilling sections, as they haven't become habits like I thought they would. During untimed drills I would be near perfect. Of course the timing has that effect, but I think I'm just not doing the little thigns that will help. It's like I'm passively reading for some stupid reason. The habits I'd hoped would be there that for some reason are blanking when I read are purposefully reading for the structure, making note of the main ideas/points as I'm reading, predicting where the passage will go, reflecting after reading the passage and paraphrasing it to myself real quick to reinforce it, and then being very particular in answer choices in finding clearly wrong answers. I've felt like the answers have been what's slowing me down, as I'm waffling between choices, but that's very likely because I'm not getting a good understanding of the passage.
Has anyone else been stuck in this rut in RC where you have improved to a pretty good range or a range you were happy with (the -4 to -6 was an okay range for me) and then you started to do bad on it again? Really hoping I can get this figured out before test day, as the rest of my score is on the right track and I don't want a potential 170+ score to be a 165.
Edited that I said LR in the first para. when I meant RC.

gamerish wrote:Holy crap that bicycle game on PT64 was so freaking hard.
On BR it took me 19 minutes to finish it using the riders as the categories and then I did it again right after using the bikes as the categories and it STILL took me 14 minutes to finish it. Even if it meant going -3 on it, I'm glad I skipped those questions on my actual take.
Gonna go watch the 7Sage video and be humbled by what I'm sure is going to be JY saying this was an 8 minute game.
I screwed up the other one and did fine on that one. Wtf.
That one JY said was particularly difficult, and it had a 5 star difficulty rating, but really if you can make that big inference about the YS block only being able to be in spot 1 or 2, then you, can split your board into two, and then even further into just 4 total sub game boards. The hard and time consuming part were how the questions were all CBT, MBF, etc that require you to almost brute force through all of them.

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
i began with pretty bad rc when I started prepping for my 1st take. with a lot of drilling I began scoring in the wide range of -7 to -1 on older rc, but for 50s/60s rc I still had a very wide range of -13 to -4 with an average of around -7. lsat would be a much different test for me without rc.

Somehow...no idea how... I finished all of my work already and no one has given me anymore, so I have nearly 4 hours to study at work
Praise jebus!
Going to drill all SA questions, redo/review the 13 flaw questions I missed, and probably do some RC passages.

I did 30 Q's from the Cambridge LR Most Difficult Packet and then 4 Law passages from the Cambridge RC packets.
Plan to review PT 63 (retake) which I took yesterday before tuning in for the GOP debate. 2.5 more weeks folks!

Currently on break from 57. Feeling pretty good so far. First timed four section PT of this prep cycle.

I did a reading comp passage about geometric fractals today.. it was so horrible. I think it was a section of a PT in the 50's .
