176 (No score for a 177 :x )

This is my best PT so far. After yesterday's debacle, I needed this. I'm hoping yesterday was just a fluke and today was not.

I do think I need to start employing a warm-up routine. I missed three on passage two of RC.
Wow that's really good! Wow 5 wrong and still got a 176. That must have been a tough curve. Good luck! Are you planning to take warm up before every PT and for your LSAT?
I actually read the scale wrong. I got a 177 and there is no score for a 178. The curve was really compressed. Each 170+ score except for 180 (which was -3) had a 1 raw score difference

edit to answer question:

I will be doing warm-ups, but I don't know how I will structure them right now.

Graded my PT from yesterday. Man that second LR section always kills me. Not even sure it's stamina because I did really well on the last section (RC). I know for that one my timing got screwed up (I was doing really well 1-15, then I think I just got sucked in too long on 16-21) and I was rushing on the last six. Still got a good score but dang.

PT 64: 173 timed/177 BR

LR1: 0
LG: 0
LR2: -7/-4
RC: -2/-1

Also I am taking a PT tomorrow (75 or 76, I can't remember) and I just finished up PT 37 for experimentals. What test do you guys think I should use next for my experimental section?

I took PT 67 today but I forgot to add an experimental section meaning I took a timed 4-section test today.

I scored a 176, my highest Practice score ever.

RC: -2
LR1: -1
LG: -1
LR:-1

I was really impressed by my score today since I have never scored this high before. I thought I had made more mistakes in RC and LR. I did not blind review. I am just going to review my wrong answers. I keep improving as I take more practice tests. However, I feel like my score today does not reflect my actual score potential since I did only 4- sections. :(

The last LG game was tough! I was stuck with one question.
If it makes you feel better, I've taken a couple of 4 section tests and haven't noticed any difference in scores overall, or in particular sections. If you go straight from the 3rd to the 4th section you get the same level of mental fatigue. I would suggest though that you still review the test in it's entirety, and not just your wrong answers, especially if you feel like you did worse than you actually did. It's just as important to understand why your victories are victories, as it is to understand why your mistakes are your mistakes.

Wow thank you! This is very reassuring. During 4 section PTs, I always took the 15 min break in between section 3 and 4. For next test, I will try not taking the break. I will also get to finish the PT sooner. Thanks!
I only do 4 section PTs also. Don't plan on taking a 5 section til test day. But for my break, I usually just take a quick per break, grab a few sips of water and start back up. 3 or 4 minutes break.

Nice score on 64. I just took 63 today and it had a super unforgiving curve. Looking forward to a better curve again for 64 :D

PT 63:
Raw: 90
Scaled: 170 (worst PT in a while, but last 5 average of 173, so can't be upset)
LR1: -2
LG: 0
LR2: -4 (some idiot ran into the coffee shop shooting and playing super loud music in the middle of this section - I believe that threw me off)
RC: -5 (I can't seem to get back down to the -2 I hit on the December test :( )

All in all not too upset about this one - took it in a weird time of the day for me after not getting a ton of sleep, and took it in a very loud/distracting environment. Felt like these LG were super easy, and that they made LR2/RC more difficult to compensate for that. Hoping June has a hard games section (since I'm good at those) and relatively easy other stuff.

Aim for 180 I would say 170 would get you a sizable scholarship to those schools. 167/168 a small scholarship. 165(?)/166 would get you in by the skin of your teeth but at sticker which is muy malo.

Took all four sections of PT 46 in 2 section blocks yesterday and today (LG and RC yesterday and both LR today); RC: -1, LR 1: -1; LR 2: -0, LG -0; 179 scaled. Granted, it's not the same as a full-timed test, but I still feel very good. I'm knocking on wood as I speak, but I've only missed 3 LR in my last six sections (4 of those 6 being modern sections), so I'm hoping this is the big breakthrough I've been pushing for. Not saying I've reached the Holy Land yet, but damn if it doesn't seem to be approaching in the horizon. Been drilling less quantity and really upping the review, and I can start to feel the difference. Finishing ALL sections with 5-7 minutes to spare and feeling really in control. Hoping I can keep up the momentum to test day.

10 in 10 minutes, then I don't look at the time again. I skip PR questions and do them at the end every time.
Honestly, in the most recent PT's I feel like the difficult questions are more spread out. Granted, they are still more common in questions 16-26, but questions 6-10 are not easy either.

That is amazing! When reviewing, do you sometimes also feel like you know an AC is the right answer, even without being able to explain clearly why?

Yes, specifically I can think of Q. 24 on Section 3 of this test (LR section 2), the infamous "money doesn't exist question". I got it right, but I honestly couldn't give you a solid reason why. I didn't blindly guess, something just "clicked" in the back of my brain and I could see that A was right. I don't want to call it intuition, but I felt like I knew the answer, but just couldn't "put it into words".

edit: It's not ideal to be answering questions this way, but if it works for the 1-2 hardest question, I'll take it.

Thanks.
This is what has helped me:

1. slowing down at the beginning of each game
2. making inferences from the rules that are given, as they are given, & crossing off wrong answer choices from the first question as I go through the rules
3. as I go down the list of rules, considering how prior rules inter-relate with the new rules
4. making a few summarizing templates
5. skipping questions that I can not quickly answer and then going back to them at the end (once I know the game better, they are usually easier and quicker to answer)

Out of curiosity, what score would you guys have to get to not make you want to retake? Mine would probably be 170+.

Also, I'm applying in Fall 2018. I have a few good professors right now who like me but I'm worried they won't remember enough about my work by Spring 2018 to write me a good rec. Should I ask them now? Ask a different professor later?

e: also, if a prof likes you, they will most likely remember you. I asked a prof who I had 2 yrs ago and she gladly did it and asked for my resume for some guidance since I had some law related things. also asked a current prof who loves me. are you still in UG? if so, try and kiss some ass with a prof you have now or will have in the future, at least temporarily lol, it can go a long way lol.

I have a low gpa so I really need every point I can get, I think under 172 I'm retaking. I'd even be tempted to retake a 172 but it would be getting risky at that point, I'd prob do it after applying if I felt like it could get me off a WL or give me some more money. Shooting for at least 175.

it seems like the only Q type i consistency miss in RC are the ones like "“it can be inferred that the author would be most likely to describe the views of X mentioned in line Y as”. kinda annoying since they always feel really unfounded.

Did PT 70 today, 5 section with an experimental LG from PT 32.

LR1 -2 RC -1 LG -7 LR2 -3 Scaled Score: 169 Exp. LG -4

That is my worst LG in a while, and the score really wasn't a surprise after I finished that section. I took WAY WAY too long on the first game, and I missed all but 1 question on the last game due to lack of time and misreading the game and having to redo my setup. My LG timing remains pretty inconsistent.

I'll BR later today and drill some old LGs as well. I'll most likely be taking PT 71 tomorrow, drilling Wednesday-Friday and then taking the electronic test on Saturday.

I'm not thrilled with my LG performance but overall I'm OK with today's results. While not as high as my last PT, this one is still my second highest score and I've maintained my LR and RC performances, this being my second -1 RC in a row.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
