Yay! Good for you yeezus

This reminds me of something I was thinking: if you just read super slow and carefully and get all answers right on first 3 passages and end up running out of time on last one and guess (6-7 questions)...you may actually do better than what many of us are doing now...reading moderately carefully but still confused and doing all 4 and getting -8 or -10 sometimes. (I'm guilty of that...)

So I've been studying since last July, taking the LSAT next week (I guess why else would I be posting in this thread).

My highest score has been 176 so far, and since classes ended I've been doing three tests a week under strict conditions.

Unfortunately, PT 67 KILLED me on RC (I missed 5 just on that one passage about the !Kung woman), I ended with a 165.

And then PT 68 killed me on LG (missed the last two games almost entirely; something about service days between I, T, and S as well as the ridiculous editor game), I ended with a 168.

I'm getting extremely worried. These recent late 60's tests have been pretty killer. Anyone have any advice?

When LSAC wants to make a section hard, they really do.

!kung woman was such an annoying passage !

At this point, trust your instincts. You have the skill to get a 170+ .. just be confident in your elimination process and justify ever right/wrong answer choice. I assume you have PT's 68 to 71 to finish up before next Monday?

If so, that's a full four tests that you'll review and learn from. I'm in pretty much the same both, teetering between 169 and 171 for the past couple of tests. A lot can happen in a week and you can definitely raise your floor by a point or two.

I took the weekend off for the most part, and it felt so good. Have to buckle down tomorrow, taking 65-71 as 5 section tests everyday this week.

Kind of dreading it, but it is so nice that there is an end in clear sight! Really hope this pays off and I never have to take this test again after the 9th.

How are you spending your final prep week?

Trust in your abilities. Idk how relevant this is to you but I'll share my experience. I was averaging a 174 with a high of 180, and then got destroyed by some of the Preptests in the 60s (I got a 165 on PT67 as well). I've only recently brought myself out of this slump. I started to panic and lose confidence for several days, with my PT scores dropping, before realizing that it was all in my head. I realized that I was starting to make stupid mistakes because I was so nervous about the test being "harder" and my PT scores dropping again, that I would start missing important details in question stems and freezing up on logic games that weren't even that difficult in retrospect. It was a self fulfilling prophecy where I had hyped the difficulty of the recent PT's so much that they became harder than they actually were. The LSAT is pretty much always the same in that it tests the same skills every time. There is no reason the abilities that got you a 176 in previous tests should not be able to get you a 176 in the recent tests.

Really silly. Walt, you're a great dude -- you don't come off as a know-it-all. Rebex, thats bullshit too.

14.4.14 "Judge Khalid..."

WOW! One of the most deceptive LSAT questions I have ever seen. I was looking for something totally different there! I got it right....in three minutes . I often wonder how my reaction will be on game day when I initially cross out every answer.

I would have definitely gotten this wrong on test day.

I got my passport style photo taken today...

Don't forget to do that people...

On another note. I think Jay Lawyer has gone mad. I can picture him somewhere in a cave with a huge stack of papers of all the games and LR questions he's completed. His only enjoyment is balling up the papers and pretending he's in the NBA finals. Tom Hanks in "Cast Away" comes to mind when thinking about Jay. It has been worth it for him I'm sure. He's been scoring 170+ somewhat consistently.

Some of these games in the 60's are just ridiculously hard.

One of the trends for some games sections in the 60s was to have 1 super hard game and 3 okay games. You ended up with plenty of time (think around 15 minutes) for the super hard game.

If you're doing them one at a time, you might think it's a lot more WTF if you give yourself ~9 minutes per game, instead of doing the whole section.

Is anyone else getting really bored of taking prep tests? I feel like lack of interest is impeding my ability to really engage with the text. Hope it doesn't happen on test day. :/

Hey guys, I'm PT'ing through 65-71 in prepping for next week's monster, and I have a question about PT65 S1 Q16:

I see how B can be the correct answer here, but I still don't see why D is incorrect? It seems to perfectly addresses the gap in reasoning and to close it out even further than answer choice B for me.

Appreciate your helps!

It doesn't address the gap.

This question isn't whether or not the voters can decide anything. It's should they be given the right to decide anything.

That's my interpretation. I could be wrong.
