I mean I'm all for calling out TLS neuroticism about LSAT scores, but your claim about 166/3.85 getting 'good' money at T10 is patently false. I definitely outperformed my numbers this past cycle with a 168/3.98, and the best T10 offer I got was $120k at Michigan. Sure that's a pretty good outcome, but someone with a weaker GPA and two points lower is definitely not getting anywhere close to that (probably paying sticker or 85% tuition) unless they're URM.saf18hornet wrote:Seriously though, when I see people all FML over their 173 PT score (looking at like half the folks on this thread) it's pretty crazy to me. I think I'm just gonna talk to the person behind or in front of me like I did for my 2 other takes. I remember when I told a chick that I had studied for about 5 months, she was like "WHAT?? I studied for about a month but like 2 times a week after work ". Bet you she scored way fucking higher than I did.
If you have a 3.85+, you are getting good money at a T10 with a 166+. And while a 180 is higher than a 174, neither of those numbers will markedly affect your final outcome at acceptance to Yale, and certainly not Stanford. Lets not even mention HLS who will be riding behind Chicago within a few years.

Agreed. I get a 170+ and I'm done. No retaking. Even if I keep PTing 174,175 etc.saf18hornet wrote:Seriously though, when I see people all FML over their 173 PT score (looking at like half the folks on this thread) it's pretty crazy to me. I disagree on the bolded though. No way a 3.8/167 is getting any substantial scholarships. Maybe like 10k/yr from UVA or something.
With a 3.8 you need at least a 170 to start to see $$$ from T10. Except maybe Michigan. Hell I have a higher GPA than that and I'll need a 170 just to get anything from Chicago at all.

I actually got in everywhere I applied, Chicago and down (wait listed at H). Offered 30k at UChi, 65k at NYU, various amounts ranging from 50-105k pretty much everywhere else (didn't apply to Columbia).dm1683 wrote:LOL I didn't see your post. I said the same thing. I thought about taking it (Michigan), but I had that 168 on three weeks of studying, and knew I could do better/I currently have a good job and am in no rush to start school back. Planning on shooting for perfect in June and then hope to have my take of top schools for free.

Been at the beach this weekend so only going at half speed. All I did today was review Trainer S.A. Lessons and do a drill set since I've been missing this question type lately. I'll probably do a timed RC section tomorrow and then get back to full time with a Monday PT.
I debated not going on the vacation but the couple days I'll be out here will be good to charge up for the stretch run.

Also, with a 3.80-3.85 where in terms of LSAT should I need for lower/mid T13? Of course I'm always trying for 180 but I'm debating what my threshold to not retake would be. I'm specifically targeting UVA, Duke and Cornel with my #1 goal being DC big law.

To echo: I feel that UVA and Duke both lowballed me this year (168/3.98) with offers around 55k. Cornell threw around 100k at me. As such, I'd agree with the assessment above. 170 seems to be a pretty magical score for seeing large money from 8-13.dm1683 wrote:Slippin' Jimmy wrote:Also, with a 3.80-3.85 where in terms of LSAT should I need for lower/mid T13? Do you guys notate for Reading Comprehension?
I think I'm pretty good at Games but I always blank when it comes to mastering the scenarios and for that reason my scores are not where they should be. Any advice on how to overcome this?
Thanks.

Re: The Official June 2017 Study Group
My prediction proved true. 5/9 of the LR questions I missed were easy questions that were glaringly obvious during review. I don't know what was going on this morning, I couldn't seem to comprehend anything. Overall, I feel good about the test but I am peeved that I burned a PT from the 70s on a bungled take.zkyggi wrote:First PT since finals earlier this week, and it went terrible.

I felt totally out of my rhythm, to the point where I almost ran out everything but LG. During LR1 I thought I just needed to warm up but it never really came to me. I hope it is just a matter of getting back into the swing of things.
I haven't reviewed yet, but I get the feeling I'm going to be extremely frustrated by some of my mistakes. In any case, I'm finally free of all obligations until test day.

Speaking of lsat/gpa combination - and I know this is not the thread, so just a small question - do you know anything about international applicants? I mean, we don't have a gpa. They will weight even heavier our lsat right? This could have its benefits I think.. We can't higher, but neither lower the gpa median of any law school...

I'm pretty sure your LSAT just becomes a lot more important. I'd also figure softs may get more consideration than normal but don't quote me on that, just a 0L.InterLaw wrote:Speaking of lsat/gpa combination - and I know this is not the thread, so just a small question - do you know anything about international applicants? PT 74. Took it after work on Thursday.
LR 1: 0
LG: 0
RC: -4 hah
LR2: -2
Score: 176
Experimental sections:
LG (PT 12.2): -1
RC (PT 12.3) 0
Few things I noticed when blind-reviewing: (1) 2 of the mistakes I made on RC are due to not reading the questions or ACs carefully. The other 2 are practically a lost cause because I wasn't able to determine the correct answers after spending substantial time on them. (2) The 2 mistakes in second LR are degree issues: "one of the highest" versus "highest" and "usually" versus "always". (3) Still need to work on timing for LG. A difficult game would fuck me over.
Overall, need to improve on RC.

Great score! Seems like you can definitely improve though, especially if you are catching your mistakes. I wouldn't worry too much about those 2 elusive RC questions, but I would worry a lot about the other two. I know it sounds crazy, but being unhappy with a 176 on your PT is a good thing.lynn.wibi wrote:PT 74. Took it after work on Thursday.

Took PT 73 today:

LR1: -1
LG: -0
LR2: -0
176 (No score for a 177
)
This is my best PT so far. After yesterday's debacle, I needed this. I'm hoping yesterday was just a fluke and today was not.
I do think I need to start employing a warm-up routine. I missed three on passage two of RC.

I was really impressed by my score today since I have never scored this high before. I thought I had made more mistakes in RC and LR. I did not blind review. I am just going to review my wrong answers. I keep improving as I take more practice tests. However, I feel like my score today does not reflect my actual score potential since I did only 4- sections.
The last LG game was tough! I was stuck with one question.
Wow thank you! This is very reassuring. During 4 section PTs, I always took the 15 min break in between section 3 and 4. For next test, I will try not taking the break. I will also get to finish the PT sooner. Thanks!
