I didn't take Sept. but I took the PT. RC and LR was harder in 79 but LG were easier (Virus game wasn;t that hard imo, but I know i'm in the minority on that lol).CHyde wrote:Curious as to what folks think this curve will be...
Harder, easier, or the same as 79 for my retakers?
I'm still kicking myself on the trading game. I got like 3 of the questions based on doing it in my head but I know if I would've just skipped game 3 I couldv'e gotten 5/5 easy. Bet I missed 3-4 of the painting ones so probably got -6 on LG
Did anyone else feel the 2nd LR was super easy? I'd honestly be surprised if I missed one. Same for RC (Really hoping these twp offset my games).

It better not have been experimental, as I only remember doing one RC section.
Also pumped up by the fMRI stuff. Did some experimental psych and ethics stuff in undergrad and am reading Jonathan Haidt right now. Couldn't have tailored an RC section more suited to my tastes.

Without going into detail, what was the first game about? I had 2 games sections and I remember red/green facilitators, paintings and buildings from the actual section.

Seems so. Maybe lsac's way of keeping the scores equated as there are more and more resources out there for getting good at more conventional games?studyingeveryday wrote:so, does it seem like the LG section will frequently have "strange" games from here on out?

How would going digital work for the LSAT? As someone who really marks up the sections that thought kind of terrifies metheGrinch wrote:Hopefully they do go digital, though I'd be interested to see how they go about accomplishing it. I'm in IT and all of the certs I have taken were computerized, but the testing centers are built for that very purpose. Seems comparable to viruses in Sept I think... Difference seems to be difficulty with 2 games here vs 1 game in Sept180orDie wrote:Long time posters: do people always meltdown this bad? Every site I go to, people are losing their shit about the games.

West coast just wrapped. Overall impression: easier than Sept, especially RC. LG was harder for sure. Realized I missed a key (easy) inference on game 3, which sucked up my time. Realized on the second to the last question on game 4, that there's a HUGE inference that unlocks the game, but it was too late. LR seemed pretty on par from recent PTs. My score is all wrapped up in those games. I legit put myself anywhere 170-180.

Real talk I'm so glad LG was my last section, if I had something after it other than the written I would have been really shaken. Had to leave the room for a few minutes to breathe because I thought I was going to pass out, didn't help that it was hot af in my test room and I have low bp.

Re: The Official December 2016 Waiters Group
West Coast back and checking in.
Wow, I'm shocked at how easy I felt like everything was. I'm getting over a cold so I've been a bit groggy and I definitely didn't feel like I was there 100% today, but the exam honestly felt like a -10 curve to me.
RC: Was very scared when I saw it was the first section. This is my 3rd take and I've had exp RC section 1 both the other times (and I hate RC. Definitely my worst section, by far). Surprised by how easy it was. Finished the first two passages in 13 minutes (and I'm normally at 18 minutes at this point then rush a bit on the last 2). I struggled the most on 2 questions from insider trading. Nothing else seemed to have difficult/tricky ACs imo.
LR1: My cold started to catch up to me and I don't recall too much about this one. LR is my strongest section (I normally finish in ~22 minutes) and I circle questions I'm not 100% on and star questions I'm unsure of. I finished the section on time and checked all of my circled/starred questions and they didn't seem hard, so I'm not sure why I circled/starred so many of them.
ExpLG: 1/2/3 were really easy enough that I don't remember details from them beyond what type of game they were. Game 4 (musicians) was basically just one of the games from PT1-38, but I still had some difficulty on it. Notably, I'm fairly certain that I made some large mistake that I couldn't catch because I had two correct answers for one of the questions.
VERY happy that it was experimental. Very easily might have missed a rule/inference that chained into a bunch of wrong answers.
LR2: Surprised that this wasn't RC. Was expecting experimental RC and then LR as section 5. Kind of a good surprise, but I figured that it could still be section 5. This one seemed easier than LR1 imo. I realized with 10 seconds left though that I misread the AC I circled from the early question about the cup and I quickly changed my answer to something else. I really wish I had an extra like 20 seconds to ascertain if I picked the right one because it seemed like an easy question.
LG: SO THANKFUL that I had experimental LG. Definitely the easiest format for the test given my cold (RC>LR>expLG>LR>LG). I almost cried when I saw that this wasn't RC (especially since RC1 I felt like I did great on and expLG was definitely my worst section). Games 1 and 2 were cake. A lot of people said that game 3 was hard, but I honestly thought that it was incredibly easy if you spent time on the game board. I guess if you missed one key inference it was hard, but that inference imo seemed really easy to make. Game 4 was super easy for me. Like, if you have the ability to count then it was fine. It didn't even feel like an LSAT logic game. Had enough time to check every one of my ACs on LG. Very confident I went -0.
Everyone has a different experience and what's easy for one person can be hard for another (and vice-versa), so sorry if it sounds like I'm thrashing anyone. I had an easy time (especially with games) but I understand how people could've struggled. Overall I'm very happy with the exam and how I did.
Expecting -10/-11 curve. (Everyone always overstates how difficult the exam was right before getting out. I think it's -10 but reading the thread makes me think -11. We'll see.)

Re: The Official December 2016 Waiters Group
First time test taker. My thoughts compared to the PTs I've done:
LR: easy to medium
RC: Average and the experimental was not hard but different
LG: I didn't think any of the games were hard except the buildings. There was a big inference for buildings too that made it really easy once I got it. I actually thought the paintings were pretty average in difficulty.
What got me today was TIME.
I never eat breakfast and decided that a bagel, 2 bananas, 2 Greek yogurts, - venti Starbucks and a coke was a good idea before the test to get a lot of good nutrients and caffeine in me. I have stomach issues anyway (sorry tmi) and got sick before check in even started. My stomach was still unhappy the entire test and i was able to avoid bathroom breaks during the test but it just made me move more slowly than normal and I didn't finish a couple of the sections (just a few questions and I did bubble answers in).
So February here I come with a less crazy breakfast!
