I go to AC every summer at least once with a bunch of family. Considering every year I've gone I was under 21 (21 now), this year I'm ready to blow some savings and get wasted for free.

Hey Guys,

So for the June test my approach was to complete all of Manhattan's prep material and then start PTing. In retrospect I kinda regretted this because I felt like having some fresh study material aside from just tests would have been helpful. So for September thus far my approach has been to finish about half of each Powerscore Bible (which I have done) and then start PTing with a mix of studying the remaining material in between tests. Im worried that this is going to make me feel rushed to review tests and complete study material. Anyone have a particular approach they favor here? I'm on the fence with about which approach to take currently.

Thinking of what I should do with PT 77 (haven't bought it yet) and the June LSAT. I think the June LSAT I will take when we are close to the Sept test, and I was thinking of doing PT 77 a little before PT 78. But at the same time, I want to fool proof that dreaded game 3 in PT 77. Hmmm.. Suggestions?

For me, PT's and books do very little. Drilling the same material over and over and over, however, has helped me tremendously.

Renting textbooks is such a drag. Like, it costs so much and I utilize them so little.

I'm ready for law school. Mainly because I won't feel as bad about taking out COL loans. Haha

I think I'm going to take a 4th year of undergrad, though. Read good books, learn skills, spend time with the SO-- do all the things I'd wish I'd done once I'm an old, grumpy lawyer.

If by guidance, you mean a topic. I sort of suggest the following to everyone... if something is on your mind... just write it out. Don't worry about getting your specific essay topic yet. Just write about some things that matter to you. It could be a paragraph. It could be five pages. Just make sure you are writing something, preferably a few times a week. If you think a specific topic could be good, write it out and see what happens. Leave it alone for a few days. When you do decide on a topic, I would leave your rough draft alone for a few days and rewrite the entire statement from memory. You may think of new phrasing, ordering, etc. that you would not have thought of if you simply tried to revise your essay constantly.
I already have a topic, it's just connecting that topic to everything else I want to introduce/say in my statement that is throwing me off. I don't know if it's been overdone because it is a bit unusual, but it describes me so I'm at a bit of a conundrum.. :/

Thanks for the writing tips though. I might try and piece part of it together later this week.
Ah no problem. Always here if you need feedback. I think the best thing you can do is just sit down and write. You have your topic. Just treat it as a stream of consciousness for now.

For anyone interested, I recently read this from the WSJ and enjoyed it. I felt it's quite appropriate given the nature of this thread and comment.

How to Write Like Antonin Scalia
A lawyer and proud language snoot explains why good English matters and how Justice Scalia’s textualism makes headway on the Supreme Court.

Couldn't copy paste URL from my phone.

When I finally get home, I have 30 more function/role questions to do, and I want to get through the lesson I missed Saturday so that I can get into the homework fresh tomorrow. It is 100 weaken and 4 RC passages I think.

Finally done with the 7Sage curriculum and now onto PTs.

Since I have already done a few, I will be skipping around the order a bit.

With that being said, it is PT 45 on the schedule for me tomorrow.

Planned pacing is two PTs a week with intermittent weeks devoted to drilling once weaknesses are uncovered via the 7Sage tool.

Finally turning the corner. Last two sections of LR I went -0 and -2. RC I tend to get -2 or -3. I suck at LG but I've heard it's most teachable so I guess that's what I'll be working on solidly for the next month.

Was doing a timed LR section and then I got to the 10 question mark and felt like stopping. I could've kept going but at the moment I don't feel like doing this since I've been going at it with LG all day. So I figured why keep going if I'm going to be half-assing it, thus leading to a waste of a section. There was only 1 question that I was iffy about (a MBF conditional logic question again, surprise surprise), which I did BR for and my original answer was wrong, but then I got the right one. So 9/10 for the first 10 questions in 12:10 mins. There was a parallel flaw question in the first 10 as well, which I think is why I had a little more time added on than usual for the first 10. Surprisingly, according to 7sage, 5 of the first 10 questions in this section are ranked difficulty 3, which I thought was a little weird but nonetheless still an easyish first 10.

You're in a great position if LG is your worst section.

I hate you

eta: nah but seriously, that's a nice score for LR and RC. What is going to be your approach for the games?

Nice man! After I get through the rest of 7sage's RC lessons and do some more RC drilling, I'll be joining you guys with full PTing!

I already went through the Bible. Now I'm going to use the 7Sage curriculum and its approach with repeating logic games. I really hope it works. Very open to suggestions.

Also, from doing PTs, my observation is that on the other sections, my performance is 98% the direct result of my attention. I really need some strategies for sustaining my 100% attention for the duration of the LSAT. I can't afford for things to just be hit or miss which seems to be mostly the case. How does one learn to do incredibly close and meticulous readings for hours?

okay so my PT scores, in order, have been: 172 171 168 167. scores have been going down with time. I literally just BOMBED the RC on PT 45.

LR -2
RC -10 wtf
LG -0
LR -3

the LRs were 4/5 and 5/5 on the difficulty. RC was 5/5 and was TOUGH. LG was real easy. 1/5 gonna start focusing on hard LR questions and working on RC. ugh what should have been an easy 170+, ruined by one section. idk if the RC was as hard if I'm thinking it is or if I just royally screwed up. I went -3 on hard RC sections before so I think I just had a bad section this time.

Yeah doing logic games over and over, including the same ones, is really the key to learning the section.

Honestly, being focused and having 100% attention during the LSAT just comes from your practice of it during practice tests. As we all know, the test gives off some serious fatigue when you're several sections in, but you just have to keep doing practice tests under timed conditions. Some people have opted to doing 6 section PT to build endurance, whether you want to try that out or not is up to you, but that could potentially burn you out over time.

I keep working out, sweating a lot, drinking coffee, and forgetting to drink water. Then, around this time, I'll get a dehydrated headache. Need to work on that. On the bright side, played around 4 games of pickup basketball today and didn't start being embarrassingly bad until the final game.

Damn, sorry bro. You did really well on the other sections though, that's something positive!

That score breakdown reminds me of when I was PTing for June.. It would always go like LR: -3,LR: -4, LG: -1 and then RC would just be like -9 or -10, lol.
